Southern. We go barefoot often, even as adults.

I go barefoot, too. I don't put my 600lb bike on the centerstand with em.
Is Frodo yer Dad? Or Gollum?

I lived in the South for ten years and loved it. Hated to leave.
Didn't meet many adults though. Met lots of old people.

Another tip.
Before you lift, balance the bike with the center stand with some downward pressure on the stand. Once balanced with some pressure on the center stand the bike won't fall over. Then do the main lift ensuring both center stand feet apply the same amount of pressure to the ground throughout the lift. If you pull the bike toward yourself during the lift all the bike weight will go onto the closest center stand foot, and will guarantee you a very hard back breaking lift.

When I first got my FJR, my buddy had to show me how to deploy the center stand. Thankfully, he was with me when I rode it off the lot. I also push the stand down until it touches and the rock the bike until the right side touches. Then like UncleHud, I can deploy it barefooted. Don't let my manliness freak you out!

I don't understand what all you macho dudes are doing walking around your bikes barefooted.

The concrete floor of the garage is way too cold this time of year to be walking around barefoot.

I just can't find the right pair of shoes to go with my Snap On Tools banana hammock, so I have to go barefoot, to keep the image up!

It is hilarious that we are up to 6 pages on this subject. but there has been a ton of useful advise that i am sure many have benefited from and redfish even gave me some in person pointers. I put it up on the stand for the first time when i got to work Friday. LIKE A BOSS!!!!

When we have exhausted the potential of the humble center-stand, we can move on to the fun that is the Motorcycle Lift Table.

Which we will learn to use barefoot.

Never underestimate how many pages we can use to discuss something. Especially once it moves on to toilet humor or mental images of HRZ you'd rather not have had put there.

I'm sorry, did you happen to miss this one? I'll quote it again just so I know I'm not the only one who suffered through this.

So it now begs the question, why are you not using the more stable side stand which is easier and can be done barefoot also......
