I use Permatex epoxy myself (JB is too runny).

Home @ 4,200 miles and many dead Mormon crickets in Nevada, Utah, Wyoming. It was the worst outbreak of those beasties I have ever seen.
Had a great time with the usual suspects and met a few new ones too.
Thanks Big John for the gathering!

I'm in Cedar City, UT with a bit of an oil leak. I'll be getting to the bottom of it in the morning. I think I might have messed up the oil filter seal with the power washer at the car wash getting all the mud off the bike. Of course the skid plate is in the way and I don't have the correct size hex driver. I could probably make it home with the leak active, but I'd rather not risk getting stranded in 110 degrees. All-in-all still a great trip in progress...

You can do like Mark said or do an oil and filter change at an auto parts store.

I would vote for Art's idea of they have a filter the right size in Cedar City...which might be difficult.

I'd think it be unlikely you could dislodge a filter seal with it being on properly.... however, there are many filters that fit Yammy's and Hondas.... first one the shorter version, second number is the long version.
Fram PH6607 or 7327 or better XG6607 or 7317
Napa Gold 1365 or 1366 (made by WIX)
WIX 51365 or 51366
Bosch 3300 or 3323 (made by Purolator, see note...)
Purolator PL 14612 or 14610 (check to see if end cap is an innie or an outie, you want the innie)
Mobil1 M1-108 or 110

Mobil1 M1-108 and M1-110 fits my FJR and is what I use.
Bosch 3323 used to work, then they changed the end cap, not sure if they changed it back again.
You can borrow tools at an auto parts store, like I did trying to chase down the Strom issue to the Flasher relay.
Most auto parts stores carry Rotella T4 or T6 15W-40.

Update: a rock got lodged between the skid plate and the oil filter and vibrated a hole in the filter. New filter and oil change and I’ll be on my way.

Got home yesterday before noon to beat the heat. Went from 75 to 105 pretty fast. 4766 Miles in 13 days of riding. one hole in an oil filter, two "mud naps" in the nevada desert, and a wicked cold for a souvenir (been in bed since I got home yesterday). I'll sort pictures when I feel better.

Pulled in the barn at 1915 today. Immediately stripped gear and headed to the pool. 6210 miles in 15 days of riding. Had only one off the bike day at Scott's in Idaho. Did 4 650+ days to get home from Idaho. Also rolled over 138k just 4 miles from Home.
Thanks Big John for the shindig. Steak dinner was awesome as usual. It was great to meet Wendy. Looking forward to reading her book.
Mormon crickets. Huh. That's what they were. Thanks Doug. There was one stretch of road that was painted with them. Never saw them before.

You and Bugnatr need to stop making out. You can catch stuff.

Annie had a bad cold soon after we got home from Spearfish. Then I got one that started on Friday when John and Fester got here. I’m just starting to feel better.

Sorry to hear that, but at least you didn't get it while on the ride. It was great seeing you both again. Thanks again for letting us spend the night.

Not the only one it seems (I see other posts of people going down with probably the same wicked cold which was going around in Spearfish).
Dougie succumbed first on our way home (Monday?), but it seems he was more or less functional. I was next - but I was starting to feel really crappy, and that's why I turned and burned towards home on Wednesday after lunch. I didn't have the energy to expend on playing in the NV desert on Wed/Thu. Marty down next (Thu, I believe). Definitely sucks big time!
I slept through half of Thu, and most of Fri, Sat, and Sun. Was feeling much better on Monday, and almost all better this Tuesday morning. Hope the same for the rest who caught this cold.

Got home Sunday afternoon and started sorting and cleaning. Might be done with that today. Great trip and saw things I've never seen before. Going through Eastern Montana South Dakota, North Dakota and Minnesota makes one appreciate our mountain west. Thanks John for putting together another opportunity to see some of these yahoo's.
