Mine just shipped. I’ll have to actually stop without a state trooper behind me and get some pics in 2019.

I dunno, though it is calendar-disqualified, your other avitar from Hwy 28 is pretty awesome. See you in Arky in 2019.

They lied! Was supposed to arrive on or about the 28th.

It showed up today. Sweet! Thanks for all your work. It'll get mounted beside my computer at work. I won't even have to turn my head to see it.

Hmmmm. The 'theme' for 2019 was obviously mountains -- on one and/or looking at several.

What about an FJR in front of some serious public art for 2020?

("Wonder if that would resonate with this crowd?", he asked to no one in particular.)

No. Said to no one in particular.
Edit: There has never been a theme to a FJRiders Calendar. People simply submit their photos from their travels and people vote on them. In jwilly's case, extra ballots are stuffed. The best photos are chosen. We don't need no steenkin theme...

Got mine today. All twelve of them!

By the way, I’m offering for sale 11 slightly customized 2019 FJRiders calendars for sale at a significant discount. Each of these has 1 month calendar text and one photo duplicated. None of them include a September text or October photo.

And THANKS again for doing this.

If you picked up your calendar, studied the binder, and contemplated a cheaper way to look at your own bike for twelve months…….

Made you look........Ha, ha

I think trying to specify a theme might restrict or reduce the entries - as in, someone might feel their picture doesn't hit the criteria and pass on submitting it, then we miss out on what could be a really awesome picture.

One idea is to ask for pictures taken during that year - for the 2020 calendar, have all the pictures be from the 2019 riding season. That's my personal criteria going forward - I often pass up scenic vistas / picture opportunities because I'm pressed for time or following a group that doesn't stop for pictures...

Agree with the thought the pictures should be current. I actually went out to take my second picture near TMI just to submit it for the calendar.

Didn't mean to imply that a theme be set or announced. (Sorry for being ambiguous.) Just noting that there's a hell of a lot of mountains in the 2019 calendar -- a "theme" -- and that perhaps I'll do something a little different for 2020: urban, public art, tattooed chick wearing a bikini and stripper heels draped across the seat. Maybe all three elements in the same photo. You know, something a little different.

I think everybody assumed that the 2019 calendar would consist of 2018 photos, but perhaps that should be formally entered into the rules. (How could you check compliance?)

I have no issue with non current photos, I am glad to see Alan's 2004 in this 2019 Calendar.

I gave my son a calendar, he was VERY happy to get one. He and the other family members were quite happy at the photos, as was I.

I think you should ditch the idea of themes. f@$k that. I want to see pics of far off places, not some dudes trying desperately to be Ansel Adams. If it happens to be in front of the museum of modern art, cool. If it's on front of some mountain, cool. A good pic is a good pic.

On page 2 of this thread, I asked if it was a requirement to submit a photograph taken in the year of the contest, and Tim replied that it is not. I didn’t get much in the way of pictures this year, so I reached way back in the archives for one of my sibmittals, which as it turned out didn’t help me much amidst the fine group of pictures we had this year.

In 2019, I hope to up my game a good bit.

No, there's not going to be a theme. Diversity is one of the things that makes the calendar great.

And the only one who is going to really know if your photo is current or not is you.

Here, here! Tim's got eight rules. I love the KISS system. (Keep it simple stupid) Now where the f@@@ is my calander? The damn Pony Express hasn't made it to Abercrombie yet.
