Project Bike - 2006 FJR bike in a basket

Ok ya gotta come clean now, spoon feed us and don't make us hunt for it, what was the 2nd no start issue? Fess up already...Gen 3 vs gen 2 sensor? Overlooked connector? (though doubtful for you).

Sounds good, and it looked like all the gauges even work. I wouldn't expect any less...

The whole thing was pretty simple really, you can't really put anything together wrong, all the wire connectors are rather unique, or laid out by Yamaha such that you can't plug one into the wrong mate. Once done, and battery hooked up, turn the key and all the juice flows to wherever it's supposed to go. All you need is air, fuel and spark, and to be able to spin the engine over..... I've never been worried about any of this.

It was untimely that the starter relay crapped out.... beyond anyone's control. Actually very timely, I'd rather replace it now than have an unhappy new owner. The starter, well, my fault there, but easily dealt with. So why wouldn't it start?

When I turned on the ignition, the fuel pump cycled and primed the fuel rail and shut off as expected. You may have noticed the low fuel bar was flashing..... Then I raised the tank and the attempt to start failed because there wasn't enough fuel for the pump to pump....... Back when I was organizing things on the shelf, the fuel tank was rather full and when it warmed up to room temp, some fuel pushed out of the vent. So, I drained 20 litres out and figured there was a couple litres left in there...... so Hack and I let the tank down, it fired right up, let run to check all possible leak areas (none) and get to operating temperature, then cool down. Video 3 would come later as we had other things to do that day... by then I had added fuel, and left the tank down just because I didn't need it up. Fuel light still flashing because I still haven't reset it. All worked as expected, we have a perfectly functioning bike.

Forgot to check the heated grips..... need the bike running to feed enough voltage to the controller.... I suspect that's all it is.

I have to put some lipstick on it so it will still whisper a little bit. Gotta climb in bed with the WR and put a jet kit in it. That won't take but part of a day, but I might just pull the carb right off and give it the spklbuk-approved ultrasonic spa treatment. Other things going on too, but also have to give Root Beer some massaging. All my girls require maintenance....
