If the family ever reads this, know that we did this thing on Saturday for Sonya. But we also did it for the whole family. And we also did it for us.
From that last fist bump we gave each other on that Saturday in May...to this past Saturday when we made a gesture of releasing this man Jason to the world around us and the heavens above.
I am going to miss that man.
But now I know of at least two places that I can go and remind myself of my fortune in meeting and knowing that man. What a special guy.

Thank you Mark, well said, well done, and I'm sure he was taking in the Saturday's adventure with much joy and approval.

Coda:
This violin, with it's aerodynamic case, flew at high speeds in honor of Jason Williams last Saturday...

It's often repeated that Jason was a great friend. As an outsider looking in, it seems to me that not only was he a great friend, but he had some great friends too! I'm beginning to think he was just as lucky as y'all were.

Riding the Blue Ridge Parkway the other day. Noticed a certain overlook. Been riding around with the card from Jason's service in my right saddlebag. I don't really save stuff like this, but I just couldn't throw it away. I love that picture! It rode with me for awhile. Then I just saw where it should be.

Well, an FJR friend of mine, Tommy848 on this board - Jason called him "crazy Tommy" on that Saturday, recently sent me a video he made of him following jwilly on NC209 northbound. This stretch of road has one of those "names".
Tommy was following Jason on this day and was shooting video. I wanted to see it. I wanted to "ride along" with Jason just one more time. Crazy Tommy is fast enough to be able to do it. Thanks to Tommy, we have this Youtube video.
If you want to know what riding along with Jason felt like, or just want to ride with Jason one more time...here is a link to Tommy848's Youtube video(s)...

WH in Dahlonega
Barbecue in Hiawassee
Here you are...IN Jason's cockpit for that ride. Remember, this is January. Tires cold...

Chatting w/ Jason at EOM 2017, he said the way to be more confident in fast corners is to stay above 6 grand, and the FJR will do it all day long.
So to test that theory, i dutifully put that plan into action. But, as Michigan has no real curves to speak of, i had to test it out in a lane shift on the freeway.
Scared the crap out of an old lady in a volvo , but damn if it didn't work.

I found this July/2018 photo snuck into the Southern Appalacians rides section. Jwilly had ridden all the way over to Travelers Rest to join up with a few of us riding around the Upstate of SC..then filling our bellies with meats, salads and pies. I think he really came over to try some of Marilee's Apple Pie or Louanne's Blueberry pie.

I had the distinct privilege of dropping some of Jason's ashes into Crater Lake today. It was an honor to have him on the ride with me.

In 2019, I organized another YFO gathering and we stayed at the Virginia Creek Settlement in Bridgeport that year. It wasn't a big group but Jason came all the way out to attend. The owners of VSC are good friends of mine and when I told them about his passing and that I wanted to do something in remembrance of him, they suggested a memorial plaque for the firepit.
I, of course, reached out to Steve/Festus since I knew he was pretty masterful at creating etched things and he created the plaque that will now reside next to the firepit that we all hung out around when Jason was there. I thought the sign next to it would be appreciated by Jason as well.
I believe those are his long ass legs to the left in this photo:
My group does a trip every Sept to VSC so I'll always feel him close there as I pretty much do everywhere.
