I went back and checked the manual that came with the deadly poisonous mercury Mano I bought a few years back. Guess I jumped the gun as it stated to be sure the tubes from the manometer were of equal length.
So there we have it.

All outa gin, so I just doubled my Dilaudid dose.. ;)
