First farkle car eased through the roundhouse and sallied up to the dock. Rest of the train making progress but still on the track.

I'm trying to get a set of those for the KTM but it's a known issue that the clutch cable needs to be swapped out to add them, which isn't an issue, but there's a note on Rox website that says *The newer models have been reporting issues with OTHER cables not being long enough".

Other cables? Like the front brake? I can deal with that too, but hard to deal with wiring harnesses going to the controls, if those are the ones that end up short.

Festus, that kinda sucks. I hope you get it worked out.

Forums imply all cables good for the CBX/NX. I'm banking on these to tweak the arm/hand reach.🀞

Is your bike throttle by wire? Could they be referring to throttle cables?

Possibly, they don't specify, meaning it could be throttle cable, turn signals, horn, or anything else in the wiring harnesses that go into the controls (they are lit at night).

Go Team Brown! Progress.
Crash bars, radiator guard and handguards MIA until available.
Then all that will be in the way is motivating some laggard to do the install.

Team Green made a run while I was out this morning.

I guess now that the handguards are in, I'm thin on excuses for not installing the riser block. Universal handguard installation is always fun. Anticipating Honda engineering quirks to make it even more adventurous than usual. I guess they'll fit some other dual sport if not the Honda.

I think I better wait another ride or two. And then I'll be a little closer to first service mileage threshold. Wouldn't want any pre-mature wrenching going on πŸ˜‹

Looking across the highly dissected erosional WV Allegheny Plateau under a Toy Story sky. A billion or so short years after its origins, wind and water have worked their magic. Portions of the sediments can be found as far west as Arizona! Geomorphology brief concluded.

Water still doing it thing.

Ms. Smoky looking good at her only stop.

Cheshire cat post 3-hour good loop and sporting his no longer a virgin Revit jacket complete with chest and back armor. Felt a lot less naked while riding today. Jacket breathes pretty well considering the foam armor. Happy with it so far.

Ms. Reesee up to her usual welcome home antics.

I was getting too warm to play with the display menu but this morning's loop should have closed in on the break in threshold. Tidying the shop and wrenching on a Honda...mmmn boy!

But first, out to have a hot sun pea pickin' good time!!

On my way back from the Liquid Nitrogen Dominatrix [I think she really enjoys freezing flesh πŸ˜…], Ms. Smoky paused to look out over the farm that spawned Robert E. Lee's horse Traveler that the general acquired when encamped on Big Sewell Mountain. Said mountain was the scene of an earlier Smoky adventure ^^^

And then a tasty sample of Snake Run that made me forget all about about those hotspots.

Stopped for fuel and it appears I can procrastinate about the first service a little while longer 😊
MPG boo yah!

71 mpg!! impressive. Under the right circumstances, you can ride all day on ten bucks!

Those dermotologist... errr... Dominatrix wackos really do like freezing shit off. LOL Well - I don't want melanoma... freeze away!

I'll take your word for it but all of AZ is West of the Continental Divide, how did that happen?

B/c the Appalachians are older than even you and me or the western continental divide!

Perhaps one has to consider geologic time. If I understand things correctly, the western continental divide did not yet exist when the Appalachian sediments were deposited.
Rockies are babies geologic time wise.

You probably would have never considered that the core mountains that make up the original Appalachian chain extend into Texas either.

For your edification...

And here's the Arizona and Utah skinny:
https://www.sciencenews.org/article/lon ... palachians
The team’s research suggests that a westward-flowing transcontinental river system was in place several times between 275 million and 150 million years ago.
Purt nigh onto amazin' ifn ya ask me.

Geologists Find New Origins of Appalachian Mountains 😲
https://phys.org/news/2006-11-geologist ... tains.html
The scientists recently discovered a piece of the Appalachian Mountains in southern Mexico, a location geologists long had assumed was part of the North American Cordillera. The Cordillera is a continuous sequence of mountain ranges that includes the Rocky Mountains. It stretches from Alaska to Mexico and continues into South America.

Not too many miles left for that first service, is it? Is that 600 miles? Can you do the service or is it one the dealer does?

Really looks like a fun bike.

Inspection and oil change @ 600 miles.

I'm trying to hold out until remaining major farkles, in particular crash and radiator guards are available (supposedly mid-July) to begin getting to know the bike better by wrench turning (not my favorite activity).

And yep, so far I'm having a ball!
