If Andy gets within 50 feet of my 13 with anything resembling a tool (and that includes most forum members), I'mma call out the OPP Tactical Unit.

Little update on some thing's I've noticed that maybe by design or unique to mine.
1: It kicks major butt-ass.
2: The clutch has a really different engagement. It does a partial engagement then a progressive as expected. I like that a lot! It makes riding low speeds (walking) speeds easy -peasy combined with dragging the rear brake.
3: The engine is electric smooth below 4000 rpm. Starts getting a little buzzy after that. Nothing bad but hopefully will improve after the break in period (100,000 miles).
4: Touring mode is great at low speeds going over Sudbury's washboard roads. The 04 would buck and snort, the 13 just kinda goes "ya ya.. I know, I fix".
5: It kicks major butt-ass.
6: The Cdn model lets you switch the instant/avg economy read out between 100/L and km/L. I don't know who thought up 100/L but they were fucked in the head. BTW, the km/L will not go above 40.
7: The adjustable side vents make absolutely no difference at all.
8: The seat sucks.
9: It kicks major-butt ass.

Glad you're getting acquainted...
I hit some dirt washboard this weekend. By accident. At 60mph. So long as you stay in the throttle, washboards don't exist.... I think my '09 snorted, "WTF!!!"
BTW, Conti Road Attack 2's suck on gravel.

Congrats, Stever....... Nice! I'm not admitting at all that I may be a touch jealous. BTW I think the anti-U-turn software will only come starting with the 2014 models, and I know the temptation was too much and you just had to pull the trigger early. However, don't be so introverted, let us know how you really feel and if the new machine kicks major butt-ass.............. and I 'spoze those laser retina burner lamps are being mounted one day?

I'm due for an extended wrenching session moving the goodies on the 04 over to the 13. Moved a couple of things over already, but it's time to dive in. It's supposed to rain all day Saturday so I'm thinking that's gonna be the day. What could possibly go wrong?
I'm shitting bricks over moving the Hella's over. I've ordered the mounts from Gaurald for the 13 so the physical lights themselves should be easy. It's the ballasts. They are HUGE. I haven't been under the hood on the 13 yet, but with all the extra electronics on it, I'm sure their is a severe lack of real estate under there. Maybe I'll just hot glue them onto the fairing or something.

Otherwise known as doing it "
Patriot Style"...
I'll say it was probably easier to take farkles off the wrecked bike than what you'll go through. I stripped everything off down to the frame, putting farkle stuff in ziplock baggies in their own box along the way. Then V-2point OH was slid under the work light and I chipped away at it during the winter months.
Buy a new bike in July, you don't have the luxury of time. Way to go...

Hey, I've never been accused of being s.m.r.t
The hella's may get put off until winter. It depends on what a peek under the hood uncovers. I've done some preliminary searching for smaller gen3 ballasts and they are available everywhere, but not with the right connectors on the high-tension side. I just don't know enough about them to know if I can move the connectors over to the new ballasts. I won't miss the HIDs until I need them
The rest of the stuff should be pretty straight forward. It's nearly all electrical. The dealership already put on an SAE connector on the battery (good dealership). The APC which will power my tank bag, heated gear, admore kit, GPS and brake strobe. I'm still undecided if I'm going to move over my datel. Oddly enough, the digi-dash won't show you battery voltage.
I've got Gen 2 seats to send to Russell, bag liners, tankslapper kit, bag rear reflector kit, givi mount, hwy pegs and light brackets, all in transit.
After that, its all just odds and ends (techmount for my GPS, pin the bags, loctite the locks etc).
I felt a little odd taking the 'old' bike out for a ride with Line to a bike rally last weekend. My brain was shouting NEW BIKE!, but she doesn't like to ride without the Givi as a backrest. No matter, got the fluids circulated and the battery charged up.
