Yep, best to have a backup!

Two is better than one...especially if you have friends visiting! :stickpoke:

What do you find undesirable about Ivan's flash for the 2013?

Russ, looking at your link, I see that my style of riding is similar in that I use much engine braking as well...so NO, I would NOT like the Ivan flash that you got.

I ride the same way. I would have Ivan correct the 80 mph cruise control limit and leave everything as stock. He's been easy for me to work with in the past. I agree with you Russ and I ride the corners just like you.

I found my 2013 FJR. If anyone else is looking for one, here's a low mileage beauty. I found it on Facebook Marketplace:

Congrats!!
How often do you cruise over 80 mph? If you're talking to Ivan, ask about the fuel cut on Gen3, it's really not all that noticable like on '06-'07 or other Gen2's. I'm saying may not have much effect on Gen 3 engine braking, but geez, I never really noticed... I had Ivan do my '14 but it wasn't terribly necessary..... if you can leave the cruise.

I'm picking mine up on Friday or Saturday. That one I found on Facebook Marketplace would sure be a nice bike for someone.

Lemme know what he says. I'd like to have JUST the cruise control limit removed and absolutely nothing else changed. That's why I suggested a 2014 or '15 ecu direct swap.

The ECU's are now up to $1200 with discount. Not cost effective at all.

I like the black wheels better. Maybe that's because I have the silver wheels on the 08 AE.

For new from a distributor. Eventually I'll find one from a wrecked bike for 150-ish

I'm not a fan of black wheels, never have been. I'd trade my black for those silver in a heartbeat.

Basically, keeping the wheels clean on all my bikes is a PITA. The silver wheels on my 08AE show every bit of tar, etc.

I feel a wheel swap upcoming with Russ.

Good luck Jeff.
Why a 13? The 16, and 17 best colors with no cruise limit. :stickpoke: Is it the 6 speed issue?
You're not looking for ES are you? You may want to have the ability to upgrade it.
Make sure you are careful with the Fragilee plastic and mirror stays. :zombwobb:
What are you doing with the 08 Advanced Edition? Seams like a nice throttle lock would save a lot of money and work. :stickpoke:

Hey buddy! I like the 2013 color. I'll get Ivan to fix the cruise control speed limit issue. I didn't want an ES due to expense and extra work to replace the suspension in the future.

For now I'll keep the 2008 AE unless someone approaches me with enough money to pry it away from me. I don't think Trevor would like me to sell it either as we both love it.

I'll ride both bikes for a season and decide what to sell later. The 2013 has all the bells and whistles that my AE has basically. The 2008 AE has an electric shifter and the 2013 has electronic cruise control. The deal on the 2013 was just too good to pass up in my way of thinking.

The 2008 AE is 5 years older and has 30,000 more miles. Still my baby though.
