I take the OEM Russell cover, put over the passenger seat, then whatever I'm packing goes on top (on a Wing it was aux fuel, etc.). I then tuck the front half under what's on top of the passenger seat. If I need it, I can unlimber it without unpacking. Just unroll the leading edge and pull it over the front of the saddle.

Which size of the Nelson Rigg half cover did you order (L or XL)? Are you using it with a top box on or no top box?

XL works with top box. Nelson Rigg UV-2000 XL. Amazon has them.

For those of you who are new to the Nelson Rigg UV-2000 half cover, the tag on the cover goes to the rear of the bike or over the trunk. Makes it much easier to put on the bike rather than guessing.

I clicked on the first one and it says I purchased it in 2016. Fits great on my FJR with 56L top trunk on.

Despite the title description, the one in the photo in the second link is not the XL.

That's the one I have as well, came recommend by FJRFarrior and gets the job done. Used it for the first time at EOM '22 with the Yamaha top case, packs up small and at the very least worth having on the heavy dew nights we saw. To make it a little easier to put on, the loops at the bottom next to them I drew a couple arrows pointing forward. I happen to have a spray can of water proofer that's been sitting on the shelf for a couple years. On a hot sunny day I draped the cover over a couple of lawn chairs in my driveway and sprayed it down. Probably over kill but that half full can of Dry Camp wasn't doing me any good sitting on the shelf. And at $40 I've made more expensive mistakes.

I wrote "Front" and 'Rear" with a sharpie along the bottom edge of mine. Never could get it correct before that.
