Re: Another recall...

The initial recall flash limited it to about 3500 rpm, the new reflash will raise that to 6000, so not likely to happen.

My dealer put the vin# in some type of Yamaha database. Told them what recalls were on the bike and if they had been done.Blueridgerider wrote: ↑Tue Jul 26, 2022 1:05 pm I had my second gear recall done at a big reputable service/dealer in the Asheville, NC area on my 2016A. When I picked the bike up I noticed that there was no ECU flash done and asked them about it. They said my bike did not need it. Ok, never thought much about it until the second flash recall came out. I called them and asked again about this new recall and my bike and again they said nope no worries as it was not done the first time. Ok great then I went to my local dealer for tires recently and they informed me I need the flash update. I explained what was told to me and they seemed to think that somethings not right. Any thoughts?? Thanks.
Thanks for that Dan! It took some doing but I finally got a hold of a Yamaha Powersports customer service person. She was as nice as a Repo Man. Man she was cold. She verified that the dealer who did the second gear recall did not do the ECU flash, However said my bike needed the re-flash. I kindly asked her why if the first one was not done, then there should be no reason to fix it?? If it ain't broke don't fix it?? She said, Your bike needs the re-flash, Have a nice day:) I guess there are 2 ways to look at it, first of all I can choose not to do anything as they never altered it to begin with. Or secondly I can for paperwork purposes if I ever sold the bike (that's a negative) get it done so they quit hounding me every time I go there. I think the path of least resistance is choice number 1.danh600 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 26, 2022 1:08 pmMy dealer put the vin# in some type of Yamaha database.
