Speaking of ABS, I just installed Ray's switch the other day and ran the test. Since the rear pulsed twice and the front pulsed once I'm assuming that means all is well?

Wheatie, apologies, I fat fingered something and my little post I did real early yesterday seems to have evaporated.........
If you could not activate the ABS test with a jumper or my harness or whatever.... and if you could not get ABS to work on your back wheel.... and if the ABS light is not flashing..... damned good chance the fuse is blown..... it's hiding as that green 30 amp thing (there's two of them, one is a spare) on the starter relay. It carries the power to the ABS pump (there's a relay involved also). Basically, when you turn the ignition on, the ABS system is energized ready for action.
As for the code 25, it is possible sensor got wet or there is corrosion particles bridging between the aluminum housing (hole) and the steel part of the sensor. There is a plastic sleeve around the sensor that fits in that hole. Clean 'er up, a little dielectric or silicone grease (or almost any grease) to prevent further corrosion. The code just says, I didn't get regular wheel pulse signals... it may be stored, and not showing up anywhere if it is not active (i.e., condition corrected itself). Can be an intermittent thing.
As to why an ABS fuse would blow, ya got me there. If you swap in a new one and it blows, let us know. I have not heard of any blowing, so it would be unusual. If you replace the fuse, re-run the ABS test, see whazzup.
PS - go into DiAG, note all the codes, clear them, see if they come back.

The Gen III have a fancy feature, the ABS light comes on when the engine is started and stays on until the motorcycle rolls a few feet forward. Is this happening?

The ABS is coming on and staying on when started. Then going off after it has traveled a ways. No ABS light has flashed during this episode yesterday or today indicating an issue.

I have some time now...Will be going out to the garage to check fuses now. Unless Alan's logic is that it isn't a fuse, as the beginning diagnostic is powered by that same fuse???

Ray and I changed out an ABS module on a Gen II. It is a pain getting the air bled out of it. I hope you saved the stock bleeders as it is impossible to bleed the ABS block with speed bleeders. Thankfully I had my old ones. We swapped them out and everything bled. Just throwing that out there if you have to change the ABS module.

So...fuses are fine, none blown.

Going to clean up the sensors next chance I have, which is next Friday. SQ Dance tonight to a rock n roll band, Roan Mountain tomorrow with Duane...

Typically the sensors don't go bad. If the sensor got stuck in the ABS housing (which the Gen III is more susceptible) they can be damaged when chiseling/bashing them out. Connectors are a weak point. There are no connectors but one between the wheels and the ABS computer.

Unless someone used antifreeze and water to flush the brake circuit I can't imagine that the metering block has gone bad on an '013.

Have not heard of any ABS failures for Gen3's. If ABS light on, good, you can run ABS test again, clean sensors, clear codes, etc. ..... Wheel sensors are waterproof connectors, both go into the ABS ECU. You shouldn't have to go there I wouldn't think.... we'll wait to hear from ya.

I can see a 5-6 year old bike that has not had the fluid changed and the ABS not periodically cycled having a frozen ABS block, regardless of the generation of the bike.

Just glanced through the "ABS chapter" in my field service manual. The diagnostic part of that chapter is very good. Once you clear the codes and run diagnostics, you should be able to get to the heart of the matter.
