Whatever dude, like you have to be all butt-hurt to take a swig of Honey Jack, you're not fooling anybody.

Speaking of hurting butts, I thought I saw Wheatie around here...

If I trailblaze, it’s not going to be with the battery. My oroginal factory battery only lasted two years. I replaced it with an equivalent from batteries plus, IIRC. If I get any sign of slow crank, I’ll grease everything and force another one in.

I don't see anything here that is trailblazing.

In fact gixxerjasens battery got an Amazon message..did not fit. None of that from poolboys...

So, Marty, 5 years later, what battery did you end up with?

Any joy with it?

I haven’t the slightest idea. I know I have a Yuasa now.

Damnit, you are correct, I missed that damn X.

Dear Amazon, if I search for YT14B-BS, I do not need results with YTX14B-BS. WTF?

Taking ONLY two swigs would be a punishment for you. :D

I'm still using that battery we got a few years ago from Delco or something like that. Like $25. It's been awesome. The way my week has been going, I'm now 85% sure I will go out and find it dead, next time I need it.

my trouble with batteries has always been below 40 degrees. If I lived/rode in 50-70 degree weather all the time I'm sure they would last longer. Also if I didn't forget to turn the key off and leave my tank bag connected for 3 months, totally drained twice over the winter, I probably wouldn't need a battery yet. It really sucks when you go to push start your bike in 21 degree temps you only have a small run way and you mess it up by not putting up the kick stand.

I'll post up when my battery arrives and that it fits properly.

Yeah, and folks in that climate probably have a LOT of pools. And you can likely find the source of all Honey Jack nearby.

Actually batteries in storage love the cold... gotta be fully charged first, and no parasitic draws...... a fully charged battery will not freeze until around -75F. Lithiums mostly don't work very well under 40F. Cranking power, well, of course it helps if they are a bit warmer. If your bike is going to sit 2 weeks, you should put it on a Battery Tender.... 12.5 volts is 50% discharged FYI.

Who lets their bike sit for 2 weeks? :?

Canadians...they do that over and over as they self flagellate in penance for choosing the high latitudes for a home for their children and grandchildren.

Just for the record...JASON!

The battery "I" purchased was ordered on the 5th and arrived the 10th of April. It also fit perfectly the first time. As long as I'm able to properly maintain this battery we will see how long I can make this one last.

Not to hurt you or anything :stickpoke:

5 Days? Geez, my last battery I ordered for the GSX-S came the next day and fit and works perfectly. In fact, I spent longer going back and forth with Yuasa regarding the correct model because they didn't have my bike model/year on their site. :D

Yuasa batteries that come from Japan last longer than the ones from P.A. From what I have been told the ones from Japan use new unrecycled lead & the ones from P.A. plant use recycled lead. If I remember correctly the PA model has the X YTX14B-BS and the Japanese model YT14B-BS does not.

I would argue that "New" vs recycled lead makes NO difference. The lead doesn't wear out and it is, in fact, easier to manufacture very pure lead from scrap than it is from lead ore concentrates. If there is a difference in longevity, it is a function of battery design, materials specifications and manufacturing quality control. By the way, at least a component of virtually all lead produced (anywhere) includes material derived from recycling. It is easier and cheaper to re-refine the lead than it is to dispose of it since it is toxic and environmentally very unfriendly.

Yuasa has factories all over the world and I believe the North American production is a different corporate entity than Yuasa in Japan. (In Japan, it is GS Yuasa)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GS_Yuasa

PS - The original GS Yuasa battery in my '07 lasted 10 years and 170,000 miles or so - still worked but with reduced reserve capacity. I bought a North American Yuasa to replace it and if it lasts half as long, I'll be happy.
