I haven't voted yet. But I can say that collectively, we have definitely up'ed our game. That is a collection of some dam fine photographs.

I've got a question on the results...
Rank User Total Votes
#1 Redfish 11
#2 Festus 11
#3 Bungie 11
#4 kieefjr 10
#5 Hppants 7
#6 DesignFlaw06 11
#7 yamafitter 5
#8 ionbeam 9
#9 FJROB1300 9
#10 Cav47 5
#11 Gramps 11
#12 CSI 10
#13 Wheaton 10
#14 CraigRegs 8
#15 Top_Speed1 4
#16 AuburnFJR. 0
Total Votes: 132
Is the ranking (1-16) where you are taking the TOP 12?

If so...what does the "Number of Votes" column (next to each entry) represent?
What does Total Votes represent

Also, how is the entry score determined? Is it (SUM of the stars voted to an entry) / number of people that voted for the entry? Then you rank those scores top to bottom?

I only ask because I'M confused by the way it is represented.

Also, is it true that the winner gets a free redfish dinner in LA...amongst other prizes? :bustinlove:

Lake Tahoe. Unfortunately this was about as close as we got. Too much private ownership around the shore. Only one spot we saw was a park and it had a 20 dollar fee just to go in. We passed.

Agree Pants, we have some awesome submissions already.

I'm probably going to land in last place, I'm well aware of the biased and old fashioned peeps here (like my ole/old buddy Billy-fitter ;)) baahhhaahaa

Good luck in-branders, and we do have some mighty fine entries already! :) :) :)

Good questions. I was wondering if I could vote zero (because I wonder about strange shit like that) and then wondered, "Where is the button to cast my ballot(s)?" Hope there's no hanging chads on my voting form.

Hey, Top_Speed1, your photo is exquisitely composed: the mountain peaks shadow the bike's windscreen and topbox, and the windscreen angle matches the mountain slope! Did you intend to do that, or did the pumpkin just happen to fail at that particular location? 8-)

Yes, the top 12 are in.

What does Total Votes represent
That is the number of people that have cast any vote for that image.

It's not just the average rating, otherwise an image with a single 5 star rating would outrank an image with 4 star average, but 20 votes cast. The algorithm tries to balance the number of votes with the value of the votes cast. The calculations are done using a Cold War era Soviet spy satellite to ensure the results are accurate. The only things you need to concern yourself with comrade is getting enough votes to keep yourself above the new red line feature on the rankings display.

Most was just luck, I knew at that time the sun was making a hazy Mtn prism effect, most likely from the snow, this was about 1 hr prior to sunset and at 45F at the image loca. Back down in Columbia Falls (motel) it was still 96F.

Edit in: I should of tagged the loca, and if 'Flaw wants to add it in...

You just click the highest star that you want to rate the image. I also added a new feature with the display rankings. If the row has red text, that means you haven't voted for that picture yet.

It's just too bad the photo is ruined by someone parking an ugly BMW in the way. :D

It was truly an epic trip with Beamer Reamer's and their oldest son.

Going to push the limits further next summer all the way to Prudoe Bay.

Some others from that trip: (since we could only submit one)

What is the name of the restaurant in Los Angeles that serves redfish dinners?

I noticed that you did not capitalize the word "redfish" so I am happy to assume you wanted to eat the fish and not me. Thanks for that.

Redfish Kitchen, It's famous, mainly for sushi I believe?

Yep, we DVR food network shows cuz Debbies a food porn queen.

Redfish Grill (in New Orleans) should be the homerun here however, and it's close by somewhat to you.

I am inclined to believe that our witty friend actually meant that I would cook him dinner. And I would if he ever made the trip down here.

The only reason I din;t submit it was the lgihting was not too good. I can run it through photoshop and see if I can correct the lighting to get rid of the shawdows. They are welcome to use it if they choose to.
