Left out some pertinent info in there. One was messed up on straight flat Louisiana roads at a time of day of low traffic. Another on twisty Colorado mountain roads.

So the insinuation is that one is dumber if he dumps his bike in Louisiana? Ahem, RFH I don't think you have to take that.....

I don't believe it was too twisty...just distracted riding.
In any event, I agree with smarty pants Redfish...no need to make it a rite of passage.

Y'all are making me feel stupid.
And for the record, that ride home on a bike that was only 12 hours old that I had wrecked before I ever got it home made me feel about as stupid as I have ever felt. And I do a LOT of things that make me feel stupid.
And for the OP, I sent you a PM. Contact me when you get a chance. It just so happens that all of the South Louisiana FJR delegation punches holes in paper. It would be nice to have a Ride and Shoot day.

In case you are worried, you are ok to go riding with these guys. They don't throw their bikes down the road every ride, and from the ride reports and photos, they know some good roads and good places to eat.

Enjoy it while you can Yankee. If you don't drop, scratch or otherwise crash your "new" bike, I am going to push the damn thing over at the first opportunity.

Well wheaton that's a great guess. He was in the Air Force. I was born on the base that used to be there. I think it's a museum now.

Central Illinois is where I spent most of my adult life. Rantoul is only about 50 miles from where I am now.
Like Wheatie said, u likely were an AirForce kid being born in Rantuckey as we call it around here now. It has turned into somewhat of a ghost town because of the base closure and related shuttering of dependent businesses.
Congrats to you for making it out of there! When I graduated from Monticello high school in the 90s. Rantoul still had some potent teams, but that is all gone now.
Make sure you get out to meet those locals in RedFish and Pants. They are great people.

You have never been More Right. And you usually type smart things so that is saying a lot. I bet none of us knew how true those words would become.
