Once we get past knowing he's got all the parts covered, can we discuss how the hell that smoked clutch happened? That is really hard to believe.
I'm pretty sure I won't be putting any more Rotella T6 in my '15ES for starters. My bushing is clean and lubed. I don't keep the clutch lever covered when riding. But don'tcha know, I'm looking for an excuse to put in the '16+ slipper clutch. Unlike my '04 I have slid the '15ES rear wheel many times during sharp decel in low gears. It's exciting when leaned over in a corner
Can't imagine that the Rotella is responsible. I will continue to use the T6. Slipper clutch is cool and I think I would go that route on my 2011 if I ever have to replace clutch parts.

I think MY clutch is slipping....

So, update. Soaked the innermost plate. Installed that and the everything else up to the next friction plate that is supposedly coming tomorrow. The little wire retainer thing went back without too much trouble. But that worries me some. It’s hard to believe it hooked in there without a bunch of swearing like Ray said was imminent.
Also got an email stating some of the other parts are on their way.
As long as I don’t F up the install, things are looking up. So......... sorry, we ain’t gonna make it. Lol.

Well, we can safely start with the assumption that it was due to operator error(s).....
My opinion is that the sticking clutch lever allowed the clutch to slip, build heat, and premature wear.

Yes, that is a likely cause, but nowhere near as much fun as blaming Josh. Here’s hoping he and Spawn are able to make it to Red Lodge

Go take it out and put it back in again. There's no way it's right if you didn't swear at least once.

You are past the hardest part! Good job! The rest just stack in and then bolt a few things on and you are done.
The thing should ride like a new bike and pull like a beast.

Sorta like the last time I did carb work on the DRZ. I went to put the carb back in and it slid right in there. I didn't have to force parts around, get the screwdriver out to funnel it into place, I didn't have to cuss and barely broke a sweat. I thought "Shit, I screwed that up somehow, let me uninstall it and try again."

Yeah, it will ride very differently now. Make sure Spawn hangs on tightly when you wheelie.

Yeah.... wheelies are good for clutches, NOT! Or second gear dogs.

How hard can practice be at this point? "Hey, fat kid, you're in charge. Everyone listen to him, I've got something I need to get done. Do what he says and show up again tomorrow".

Well, we live in Illinois, so there is that. No wonder the parts didn’t show up. Lol
Kidding. They are here and the bike is buttoned up. Still need to flush the oil again to get all the crap out of there. Shake down ride tomorrow

I don’t know about that. We need to sort out Spawn’s role in this before making that sort of commitment.

Isn't that why they have Assistant Coaches?
