It would require more effort from the participants. Many don't include information and some don't provide useful information with their submissions, even though it is requested. The artwork would have to accommodate a description and if I'm going to do that, it is all or none.
Agreed; if it's gonna happen, a text description (with a max character limit) would become part of the submission requirements.
How much extra work would that take on your part, Tim?

I notice Wheatie agrees with you, yet his submissions did not come with any information this year.
I actually did.
I stand corrected. You did, in a way that I missed.
My apologies.
Not an issue.

It's hard to say. I do think it is a good idea and I'd have to play with it to see. But it would be an all or nothing scenario. I wouldn't bother if the top 12 didn't have useful descriptions or info with the photo.

I had 2 posters made for my garage. On both of them I put a small caption type text on the bottom. I will add the pic in a few min...

Ohhh, 395 to 270 and Bodie!!! From 270 you can get glimpses of Mono Lake.

Here are the two versions of captions I anticipate getting with submissions.
I like the idea of captions to describe each photo, but I don't want to promise them. I will consider it with next year's artwork. Perhaps a simple location tag is enough to start with. "Rock Creek Vista | Richel Lodge, MT"
Honestly, I wish I could do the back cover. It'd be a perfect spot for a thumbnail of each photo, the month, and descriptions.

This calendar is one few bright and happy things in my office right now. I am getting a much needed dose of happiness each time I glance up and see it.
Even if it is March and the pic is from that doofus, SkooterG.
Much like Hppants, I felt that all of my pics this past year were just okay, nothing great. Unlike Hppants I did visit some beautiful and "exotic" spots. Sadly, the light and the weather conspired against me. I didn't have the skills to overcome the circumstances.
I am trying to not get depressed here but it sure looks like our calendar may be a boring one this year. There isn't much chance of me going anywhere anytime soon to get any decent pics.

Never run out of real estate, traction and ideas all at the same time.
Redfish, scenery you may consider plain and uninteresting can be of interest to many because we have not toured there. Our country is large and diverse, please show your corner. Thanks
Way late to the party, but I had ordered a calendar last week and just received it. I know, I know, it mid April, it is just nice staring at bikes one loves in different settings. Ok, Here's what I gonna do, I'm gonna fly around the world in fast reverse and reset the clocks to January so I can start the year right! (Word to the wise, when I reset the date, sell your stocks and 401k's, and stay inside!)
