Yup, coming from Japan. Called Yamaha in California and they said none in stock, shipping from Japan late Feb.
Bummed. Partshark is closed for the night, but I'll try tomorrow. I called a dealer and asked about it and he looked on the entire dealer network and said there's not 1 listed on any dealer in the USA (not sure I believe that). Yamaha says they can't see dealer networks so they don't know, but they do know they aren't showing any available and they are coming from Japan. I asked if they might be available in another country, and was told that the parts weren't the same across countries. Not sure if that's one that varies or not.
Just not thrilled about having to leave this thing open for 2 months.
I say two months because the dealer said their system is showing them due in 3/18. I imagine Partzilla is going to move my date to late Feb. and then when that date comes and goes, they'll update it to mid-late March.
If anyone's got any suggestions, I'm listening!
Where's Wheaton part his bike at night?
Nuh, uh....no goin to the dark side there Mister!
I live in South Carolina now, where everybody owns a gun!

Yep, during my fork debacle, I had to wait forever for the fork tube to come in. None in stock anywhere or in the warehouse. Had to wait for it to come on the slow boat from Japan, so I feel your pain. Well, you have another bike to ride, so your pain isn't that bad.
Sadly, you gotta be patient, that's how it goes with parts that are hardly ever ordered apparently.

Those gears aren't normally a high moving item, so not likely in stock anywhere.... what are the part numbers you're looking for... should be same in any country.... I'll call local dealers in the morning.

Thanks Ray, any help would be appreciated.
Just for reference, I have called partzilla, bikebandit, ebay, yahama dealers network, Yamaha corporate, and about 3-4 more that I don’t recall at the moment.
One note, there are a LOT of sites that show it in stock or shipping in a few days. However, when you call them or read deeper, you’ll find out that it’s not accurate. I’ll try to keep a running list of all sites checked.

Still pisses me off. Makes me want to order 5 of each just to have them in stock in case anyone ever needs them.

And we can add the shift fork to that backorder, just updated this morning...

I appreciate the help offered. Before anyone goes nuts and spends a minute of time on it, I'm going to post the photos of the bad parts along with the diagrams to get you guys to double check and make sure I'm looking at the right parts. There was a little bit of confusion because the bike is upside down and the parts are ride side up. When I ordered them, I thought "if it's wrong, I'll send it back and get the right one", but that's become a lot more critical now. Don't want to wait 6 weeks and find out I ordered the wrong parts.
Hang tight, I'll get it all up as time permits throughout the day.

Here's what I'm looking at. I think it's gears 27 and 30 and shift fork #4. Is that correct?

Sorry, it resizes them smaller. The originals are in the album here if it helps make it clearer....

Cover it with a cut-up Hokie sweatshirt and tape the edges tightly.

Would gears out of another bike be compatible? Say, a VMax?
Just curious.

I'm guessing you got the right numbers... but you took it apart, so..........
Yamaha Canada has the gears in stock, can get in a few days. The shift fork is backordered, he said 2 weeks.... from Japan. PM Sent.

That's just wrong. I'm sure I've got a UVA shirt I've been using as an oil rag.

Hey, Festus: are you offering a finder's fee? Wheatie doesn't live that far from me. JSNS.

C'mon Festus, give him the green light. It's not like Georgia Tech honeybees carry much of a sting...not as much as the PW on hand when that garage door rolls up.

Oh, there will be a diversion for certain. Just trying to decide which flavor pie is going to work best.

Sorry, a bit late to the game here...
The XS11 was absolutely notorious for the second gear skip. I have replaced many of them.
A few points...
We suspect the dogs are case hardened or some other form of hardening. Undercutting the dogs works great for about a month, then they are shot again. Its better to just put them back. On the XS11 you swapped a shim washer from one side of second to the other to make the dogs engage deeper and that cured it.
Next...I would call those gears servicable. I have seen MUCH worse that worked OK.
Lastly, I would bet a full dollar (Canadian or American) that the shift fork is bent. When second starts to skip, people tend to hold it with their shift lever, this builds heat and the shift fork bends. You can see by the wear farther up the fork than the wear pads. Any fork like that I have seen is not worth keeping.
Now...thats all XS11 knowledge, so take it with a grain of salt...
