Thanks for the suggestions about repairing the tire. I considered practicing tire repair skills but I wanted to get on with the tire change instead. This tire will be recycled. The glass puncture is very minor but I don't want to screw around with it.

Too much tread on the tire. Plus, my bike already has tars.

Same here (except for the oil). Unfortunately, daylight hours are getting shorter.

Days are still longer down south, both of you need some SFO.

The difference in the day length (before and after the solstice) in New England compared to the deep south was quite remarkable.

Not something I did, but something the new owner did. I just made this video about it.

I rode the FJR today on one one of my favorite routes in the Spokane area. This ride feature some very good roads with some nice turns along with very rural scenery and some nice fall foliage.
A lake in Idaho. In the winter if freezes over until spring. I have some photos somewhere with a snow covered lake. It might be good for ice fishing but I don't fish. I know my loss.
Same place different angle.
Add the FJR. Yeah yeah I know it needs cleaning.
Belmont Grain Elevator. It is so remote I can't find it on Google Maps.
For all I know this grain elevator maybe out of commission so now it is rural blight.
It was a great day to be on the FJR, especially after mounting a leaky take off last weekend.

Ride it to SFO. 617 miles to enjoy the food, friends, and concert. Temps ranged from 34 to 88. Heated gear, grips, and seat in full blast to cut the pre dawn chill.
The path down was stellar as well. The leaves are turning in Kentucky and Tennessee are peaking quite nice nicely.
I guess it’s gonna be just awful having to run it back tomorrow.

I checked my maintenance records and discovered that I am about 1200 km past due for an oil change. Oops! Almost two thirds of that (6700 km) was done in six riding days over an 11 day period of time so I'm not worried but will get it done soon. Getting close to the end of the season here anyway.

Washed the FJR, then changed the oil. Riding season is finished until next year.

Heated gear comes out by next week and I will hopefully get another dozen or so days over the next 6-7 weeks. The hard cutoff for me is when the salt hits the roads - unless we get a large enough rain event to desalinate sufficiently. Managed a couple of days between Christmas and New Years last year...

Next week it there is a chance of rain every day plus the freezing level will be 3300' to 4500' and I live at 2250'. Soon the calcium chloride will be applied, yuck. The average high in Spokane in December and January is 32F and the sticky calcium chloride won't be gone unit March.
