It was great to ride with you in Cali Jim. The morning after Ukiah was extra special.

Since I work, sometimes, at home...I put in a couple hours on Duane's bike. That seems to be as long as I can work on his bike. I keep thinking, the guy is a master mechanic... I shouldn't be touching shit on his bike! Its all "easy stuff" ...but still seems "wrong". Well, its for Maralee so I will keep plugging along.

Yeah that an excellent spirited romp on the Orr Springs road. I am missing the California pavement already. I might have to make Northern California an annual pilgrimage.
I noticed there was a hot springs on that road. On day two of my trip I rolled by a hot springs near Silver Lake Oregon. On this day the dust was blowin at this very unpleasing place where nowhere was nearby. The hot springs
campground was a barren plot of earth with RVs of all shapes and sizes. I was a bit surprised people would spend money on RVs come here to enjoy a soak. Save your money buy some Epsom salt and fill the bath tub at home. I had never been on Hwy 31 before and it is likely I won't be again. Been there done that.
Today I will wash 9 days of grime and bugs off my FJR.

Nice looking NorCal ride Fontanaman, thanks for the pics! In Fairbanks today. Day off the bikes, shopping, laundry and a few catch-up items before we continue onward. Weather is improving, but still getting wet most every day.

Mounted a new RS3 rear tire, changed the oil and final drive oil. I'm ready to start heading West early next week. It's going to be an epic trip!

Just getting ready to wash some of the crud off of my FJR from the Georgia trip last month. I probably won't do a detailed cleaning job as it'll get dirty again anyway. I'll just make it look respectable.

Road in a thunderstorm with heated gear in eastern South Dakota, removed said gear when it got up to 75 in western South Dakota then had a 90mile detour up rt59 to 94 west in Montana since 212 was closed. Finally arrived in Joliet, Montana after putting the heated geat back on since why not drop 58 degrees again. Burger and fries plus a few Guinness with a capt and coke chaser and all is good at the Frontier bar. 2128 miles over 3 days. Just the start of vacation. :>)

Joliet to Spearfish taking 310 to 16, east on CR-431/2, fuel in Ten Sleep. Through the canyon and up over the Big Horn to Buffalo on 16. I90 to get to Blackhills Lodge. I'm ready for the bar to open food and drink. Plus I stopped for refreshments so I'll have one before then.
I must admit, the route I selected up to i90 was spectacular. It's always interesting to read a sign. Free Range Cattle, Watcj for cattle in the road...

When he does that distance in 24 hours is when I will be *really* impressed.

Finished trailering to Spearfish with Madmudder. I've never trailered before, but it turned out to be an excellent choice. The torrential rains we drive through near Cleveland, OH and all through Southern South Dakota were much more enjoyable in a comfortable truck.
The roads between Pittsburgh and Spearfish are mostly straight and boring. I know first hand as I rode them last year. Now Madmudder and I sit in Spearfish with new tires. After our 3 days of fun here, we're heading out West for a couple of weeks. Lots of great roads, excellent scenery, and friends to visit. It's going to be incredible!

If you're going out there, it's the only way to go for me. From here it would be a slab ride on a bike, and a waste of tires. I've done it at least 4 times, and each time we've had a mix of torrential rains, extreme heat, and once hail that forced us to stop. I can't imagine riding it.
