Back when I was like all of you poor bastards who don't have a automatic tire machine and I was using my HF setup I bought the NoMar bar. Later I bought the Mojo lever and never touched that NoMar bar again!

That one has gotten some pretty decent reviews. I would like to see one in person and see how it does on a Dunlop RSIII or set of Trailmax Missions (that is one tough tire carcass).raYzerman wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2024 11:11 am If ya got nuthin', maybe get a Rabaconda.....

It's always good to lube the valley.

Gotta lube the valley before inserting your mounting tool.

I'm proud of you. You have the immaturity in there, but the awareness of when and where to use it. Nice job.

After all without a little lube in the saddle things would be (insert thought here).

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
I find lubing the rim's center channel and placing both upper and lower bead in the center channel directly opposite of the top bead I am looking to remove, makes things work.fontanaman wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2024 11:06 pm Yes I am using the NoMar mounting bar. One thing I forgot to do was lube the valley of the wheel. Darn I missed that trick. The upper bead was in the valley but I didn't think to try and force the lower bead into the valley.
For additional gap on the top bead squeeze the sides into the center channel as well, if you can. Hip holds the beads opposite in the center channel while hands can try putting the sides in the center channel then hands to the dismount bar for the top bead. Doing this with a PR4GT will often remove the tire without the dismount bar. I have witnesses.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
I think a portion of the mounting struggles are due to the wide (tire mount) end of the Nomar bar. While the concept is a good idea and keeps it from slipping out (feel free here...) the need to keep the bead deep in the valley negates the positive. Especially with stiff tires. With a Mojo lever you still must stay in the rim valley but it's more forgiving.
More mounting tips...In addition to lubing rim valley, I've been lubing the yellow thing where it catches the tire. That way, you can more easily push that portion of bead towards valley. Helps a lot. I'm also lubing the mounting end of Mojo lever. Adds more slip & slide...

Submitted the Michelin rebate for the 2 tires I just ordered on Monday. RMATV makes that whole process simple.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
+1 Yes they do and you don't have to ..... Nah I won't go there!
I rode my FJR yesterday a short distance yesterday to get gas and see if all was in order after repairs. No troubles. My very first first impression of the RS4's is they transfer the little road bumps right to the suspension.
I am heading to California on Saturday. The man known as ~G, aka Searching for Dry Roads, is going on trip too but I don't think he will find them. Heck these days I'd be happy to find roads paved with Asphalt.

Went out for 170 mile spin through the North Georgia Mountains. Beautiful day. 73 degrees, a few.clouds, low humidity, and pretty much empty roads. So much nicer than riding on the weekend.

It was such a beautiful day,so I rode to Kentucky for lunch at Red State BBQ in Lexington, then to Louisville for dinner with my son and daughter in-law. Spending the night in Shelbyville. Heading home tomorrow...life is good!

It was great catching up with Festar’s neighbors Kevin and Marie. I met them on a FJR group ride back in 2014. They are staying at a friend’s place 45 minutes away. I was working nearby today and had some free time so I stopped by for a visit. Good peeps!
