Took the scenic route up to Blue Ridge to see a buddy. Then blasted down to my grandson's baseball game in Canton. Bike is running very smooth since valve adjustment, plugs, and throttle body synch. Awesome weather!

Why rain on Portugal?

Replaced the rider footpeg rubber. Replaced the heat troller batteries.
Even though I’d replaced them fairly recently, sheer hours riding with heated gear in use made the troller all flashy flashy.
Replaced the air filter. Only 25k on it. But as hard as I ride it, it deserves all the flow it can get.

Packed the FJR and departed my conference in Orlando, FL today at 2:40AM. pull into the driveway at home in PA at 6:28PM after 970 miles. Could have been less time if it weren't for stupid DC and Baltimore traffic.

You couldn’t have taken an extra loop on the Beltway to make it a noteworthy ride? Cmon Man!
Lol.
Awesome achievement. You have much more patience than me! Not that that is a high bar.

Not sure about the patience part. After a series of yelling in my helmet, I felt like pulling over, finding a big stick, and beating myself over the head.
If it wasn't for getting home for a few reasons, yes, would have added 50miles and made another 1000 in 24hr. run.

Changed the oil and filter in Renee, and got the 14 GS ready to head to Turk's tomorrow. Gonna ride some dirt and gravel Sat. and then to Barber Sunday for the IndyCar race.

Began prep for the Ramble. I get 5 days on the FJR beginning Tuesday. Some slab, a lap on the jwilly memorial track, and a front row view potentially for some sweet wheat passes...
Mr Happy gets a bath and reinstalled.

I'll try to hold up my end of the bargain. But if I do, you HAVE to say it in the mic like Duane did...

Pulled the accessible dog bone and rear shock pivot points. They were still in decent shape. Bearings still had a little lube in them.
Still can’t get to the front one with the center stand.
I cleaned some bolt oxidation off and repacked the bearings with new grease.
Gonna wait on the front until Toter’s Tech Day.

So long as you don't pull a "Lumberg" and get us wedged between two 6,000 lbs SUV's...

2 new tires, a thorough cleaning of both front calipers, all new brake pads up front. While the wheels were off I gave them a quick cleaning and slathered them with Meguiar's® Ultimate Black Plastic Restorer, G15812, 12 oz. | Meguiar's. Stuff works pretty good. Rear brake pads are fine.

My least favorite FJR maintenance item got done today. Relay arm service on the 2013. Not sure if it had ever been done before so I knew when I bought it I'd need to take care of it. Did the whole thing complete with cutting off the 2 center stand bolts and putting new ones in. Surprisingly the bearings all had grease in them and everything looked good. Cleaned it all up and fresh grease. Glad that's over with.

I believe that's called an "HMFIC"... lol. RT 58 with the tailgating, hot to trot White SUV brings back a barrel of laughs. Good times!
