Less than 20 mpg doesn't seem possible, no matter how hard you push it.

I'd have a look at those spark plugs - they should be caked rich.

Clarifying details; roads in the area are laid out in a grid - curves are rare. Crops like soy beans and winter wheat allow for long sight lines. Roads are relatively free of traffic, and in good condition. The fuel map in the PC-V on my bike is a custom map - a hybrid version of the old smoothness map and WOT map (resulting in non-typical mpg at times). There tends to be stop signs every 2-3 miles. All of these factors combined with WOT launches from said stop signs and running WOT to the next stop sign equals less than 20mpg...

In theory.

Closed course, idiot pilot, do not attempt to duplicate, results may vary...

Can't speak for the FJR as much, but my TL1000R was almost exclusively ridden in the city with lots of stop lights and that V-Twin grunt and sound. Every light was a drag race. I got crap for mpg and when I took my first road trip on it I was blow away by getting almost double the mpg out of it. I've moved out of the main city so my FJR sees lots of highways even in the city now, not so much back to back to back drag races like that one saw. Probable. I also have the smoothness map and while not great, it did drop the mpgs a bit too.

I don't know if I wanna see your "Moving Average Speed" on your GPS after that ride.

I doubt law enforcement is gonna be spying on your GPS, For F's sake, we cannot even discern who brought the booger sugar into the white house! LOL

I think you are safe.

I rode my FJR to school today because it is beautiful out. 80 and sunny right now. Too bad I am sitting at my work desk.

Finally got around to wiring up the Quad Lock phone mount I installed a few weeks ago. I was powering it through the almost never used cigar outlet in the glove box. Now it’s powered through my auxiliary fuse block, nice clean install. Best phone mount I’ve ever used.

Packed and ready to go. Heading north to Maryland to visit lifelong friends, mosey about western MD and northeast WV a bit and hopefully end up on Delmarva for fresh-off-the-boat crabs before coming home. Simple vacation, no big plans really, just happy to get outta town for a few days.

I went for lunch in Westhawk..160km’s away. At the start of the ride I discovered that the ABS light was on and would not go out. So, I guess I’ll bleed the brakes & ABS unit again to see if that cures it.

Make sure the rear brake pedal isn't sticking. Is cruise control working properly?
Did you test ABS to see if it is working?

Cruise control works perfectly and I just lubed the brake pivot. I slammed the brakes on hard a few times - the abs didn’t engage. I’ll try bleeding everything again tomorrow..

I'd vote cleaning the wheel sensors and lube the holes with dielectric or silicone grease. None on the sensor itself of course.....
Seems to me the Gen3's frequently have issues with ABS lights on or blinking, very sensitive system that way......
My '14 now buddy's has had issues frequently in the last two years. Haven't cured it yet....... he fixes it with an ignition cycle or hard application of the brakes.... but it will come back.

On my trip out west in 2021, the lowest i saw on the dash (maybe not perfectly accurate) was 15mpg. I was at an elevated velocity. So it's possible. :>)

Run up 219 into Maryland. You'll go through the Deep Creek area. Very nice. The rest is all farmland.
