Lubed the shaft splines. First time. Splines were fine, but I wanted to get eyes on them before riding with Marty.
Need to replace rear brake pads.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Engine oil and filter, final drive oil. Adjusted tire pressures. Next up brake and clutch fluid. Also while I was inspecting the bike I noticed a couple of cracked reflectors. Right side pannier which I knew about, just never got around to replacing and rear fender under the license plate which I have no idea how that happened. Possibly at my brother in law's over the winter. Anyone have any spares or a line on any??

Low humidity this morning and tolerable temps, so a buddy and I took a buzz on the motorcycles. 175 miles, home before lunch. Had a nice time.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Replaced a set of rear brake pads, mounted and balanced Duane's front tire onto my front wheel. So Duane will be carrying me, in essence, on this trip. Next up, oil change... and buttoning up the plastic.
I also bought a set of cold weather gloves that were too small for Duane, so unused. They're A little too large for me, but they actually are perfect with warm and safe glove liners.
The first leg of this trip is actually the reverse of Jwilly's famous ride in May of 2019 to deliver a bike, just because he said he would. Heading out to Weatherford, OK that first day.
This trip will be closing a number of circles for me...and beginning some new ones.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
I sent Seneca a message about some levers he posted for sale. We did the transaction and he quickly sent me a tracking number and all went great.
I kinda forgot about them until he messaged me today. Been kinda busy with Summer school starting and stuff.
Here is how my next few minutes went after his message
I went and asked the wife if I got a package
Wifey “Not that I know of”
Boys “Did either of you snag a package off the porch?”
Boys (both were basically grunts indicating no knowledge of anything).
Me “Well, the tracking number says delivered 2 days ago. I wonder if we got porch pirated?”
Wife “Likely not, one of our neighbors would have seen
*** We live on a dead end street with only 3 of the 11 houses are still employed, we have a well oiled neighborhood watch.
I decide to walk into the closet where my wife keeps her boxes from everywhere she orders and thinks I can’t see them. Under a few Amazon boxes and packages I find the USPS envelope.
Most of her boxes aren’t even yet.
I show her my package and say “What are these?”
Wifey “Don’t worry about it!”
Me. “Maybe I will open it”
Wifey “That is not for you, stay out of my packages!”
Me “Did you get me something for Father’s Day?”
Wifey. “Not yet and if you don’t get out of there, you won’t be getting anything”
Me “Do you even look at your packages? Can you even keep track of the things you order?”
Wifey…. As she is approaching me. “I didn’t buy you anything. I bought myself a new……”
SpyderCo flipped out and package opened to reveal 2 very nice FJR levers
Me. “So these are not yours? And what did you buy yourself?
Wifey. “A Michael Kors wallet, but it was on sale”.
Me. “Okay, I am going to the garage to put these on!”
All good. They fit great and look very sweet.
No wonder why Jeff Bezos is a gazillionare.

Rode about 220 miles yesterday, westernly across northern North Carolina. I was supposed to check out a new casino in Virginnie but decided I'd rather not waste a nice day. I'll go gambling some other time when it's raining.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Flushed the brake fluid and the clutch fluid. Wasn't that bad. Not the black goo I was expecting. Toughest part was fiddling with the plastic. I also took off the bags, trunk and pillion seat and switched over to the Smuggler. Was buttoning everything up when the sky decided to open up. I just got the cover on when the cats and dogs started coming down. Sux not having a garage to work in. It's always too hot, too cold, too wet. Gotta finish what you start cause you can't leave anything laying around. Guess next I'll have to give her a good cleaning.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
I'm taking the wheels off of the '13 this morning to replace the tires for the California trip. I'll run the wheels down to my brother's shop and have Roadsmart 3's mounted and balanced. From what I hear, I should be able to ride the entire trip on these tires. Leaving Saturday morning with Steel_Gin for our adventure. It'll be lots of fun except for the multiple miles on the slab trying to make time.
