Looks like you're prepped.

I'm with you. I'd hold off putting those tires on AFTER the Ramble.

Sorry, no way I was going to roll into Marietta and give you that kind of advantage - new RS3's spooned on Saturday evening... Saddle-up sandbagger...

Is the herd thinning out?
Pretty much. Son's bikes keep taking up more and more space in the garage as they get bigger. I can't tuck the 250 away in a corner like I used to be able to do with his 50cc bike. Was making it hard to work on stuff in the garage and I wasn't riding the GSX-S so much lately. Bored with the local loop I'd take it on and last time out I just wasn't loving it as much as I used to. Also, it was half of my insurance cost just sitting there and I pay way too much money to the government in annual registration fees across the vehicles.

Additionally, I may or may not actually be working toward a replacement of the entire fleet by years end. We'll see how things go, but either way, I'll be one less bike in the garage than I started with most likely.

I attended the Meltdown Vintage Motorcycle Show in Hendersonville, NC this past Saturday. Went with a new friend who just sold his Harley for this nice BMW 1600 bagger. No doubt it could scoot but did have some scrapping issues in the twisties. In fact it tore up a plastic shield on the bottom left side. It was a beautiful Saturday and the bikes and people just kept rolling in the whole time we were there. When we wanted to leave it was hard to get out through the crowd of bikes and people. It was a great time checking out the classic bikes of all types.

You may want to look into getting the R1 shift arm. It is shorter and decreases the throw of the shifter. I'm sure a search would turn up the part number.
FYI, the part number is 5JJ-18112-10-00, look up applications on Partzilla, it's mostly for 2009-10 R1's. Not cheap at nearly $60, you may find one on ebay for half that or find a complete linkage with the arm included.

1. Moved the handlebars to the rear-most position. We'll see.....

2. Installed the SV-157 rack.

3. Swapped the red top box cover to the original black. Looks just fine.

4. Designed the new accessory wiring harness. The one I built for the '14 will not work - got to mount the Fuze block further back.

5. Learned that the BF-01 Givi tank loc Ring will NOT fit the FJR. Takes the BF-05. Amazon shipper mistake. Wait ANOTHER 2 days for the tank bag....

Oh well... keep moving, Pants....

Managed to get out for an afternoon ride after weeks of rain! The Conti Road Attack 3 on the rear is performing well and worth the $100 I saved dropping the Pilot Road. The PR4 on the front is starting to disfigure (scallop) so I think Ill be looking to match the rear when the time comes.

Took a 100 mile shake down cruise this morning to play with the new (to me) 2021 and make sure all farkles are working correctly. Wouldn't you know it - one of my aux lights has a bad connection. Wish I would have checked that before installing them - now I gotta pull that part of the harness back out of the bike (sigh).

I like the ES - it' nice to be able to adjust it on the fly for varied road conditions. The easier pull on the slipper clutch is also a nice touch.

I was ripping it pretty good on the levee road this morning at "going to jail" speeds when I started talking to myself:

(Pants) "I'm feeling a little high resonance vibration. What's going on?"

(Pants) "You dumbass, you have a sixth gear now. Try that."

(Pants) "Oh yeah - that's better...."
