Do you suffer from saggy pegs?

I've noticed that my pegs seemed to be sagging a little bit lately. Tonight I pulled my left side peg off to inspect and below is what i found. 2016 with just short of 50k miles ridden by a big ass dude that stands up on the pegs on a regular basis. Anyone else see this much wear? Not much wear on the mount on the bike or the pin so a pretty easy fix.

That looks like a fatigue crack to me.

Would you have ever tied the bike down by the pegs? It just strikes me as odd considering you don’t weigh that much. We got some bigger dudes than you out there for sure.

Glad you caught it now as opposed to them failing on a stretch break while standing. I can’t imagine that ending well.

No warranty but pretty cheap fix.

Nah, I would just call it a crack. I would guess that fatigue would require more loading cycles. Likely too much flexure/bending from the huge ASS load causing higher tension in the reduced net section at the assHOLE. Overstressed/material understrength...you be the judge.

Definitely needs to be replaced.

That’s fucked up. I weigh enough, stand on my pegs plenty, and I haven’t seen any degradation. Do you think that dragging them has had any contributing effect? Are you sure those are OEM pegs? Some of the bevels look different, but it’s probably just the angle of the photo. I don’t remember whether you got that one new or not.

If they are OEM and jwilly doesn't know how to hang off on corners and therefore has ground them down, what happens when the peg is being dragged on the road and the peg hits an 'irregularity' in the road surface?

Wheaton would just pull them off, put on slightly newer ones, and save the cracked ones for a shorter ride.

Well, when you stand up on the pegs and proceed to shake your ass at me.... Yeah, something's bound to suffer. Glad it's not just my eyes....

Sucks to see that damage though. But glad you found it before it gave way completely while riding.

And maybe your other bikes were doing this too... You just weren't keeping those long enough to notice the damage....

They're stock pegs, just a little worn from riding two up in the twisties... EOM was a little rough on tires and pegs.

I have never had this issue with my other FJR's that have passed on. Although i did put aftermarket pegs on my 03 after about 100k but that was my choice and not based on wear.

Jwilly has never fatigued a crack in his life, you need to ride them for more than 3 seconds.
