^^^^^I love this idea!!! Set the bottom of the fork tubes on another set of jack stands and done.

I got some stuff lying around my shop - I can build this with no problem

I did the 6-7 foot option. It gave me choices when working and it still slides behind a shelving unit when not in use (turn the feet 90º and the whole thing is flat).

I have a tall 42" steel sawhorse with extendable legs that fits right over the rear end... as far as rafters don't worry much you're only lifting 300 lbs. Keep the front wheel down and in a chock or something that will keep the bike upright.... it will want to tip over if you use a single lift point.
