Yep...I knew the same for me going in. The cream rises to the top*. I'm glad to get another outstanding calendar.

When we get to 365 entries, I'll do a one-a-day calendar.

Don't you have a year round riding season? There's still time to get another picture submitted.

I'm excited by the level of competition. Not only will it produce a higher quality product, but it shows me that my efforts are worthwhile and appreciated.

Oh your efforts are definitely worthwhile.

Google "motorcycle 2019 calendar" - there ain't much out there for our particular genre....

I just opened up each photo entered and really enjoyed the full screen review of each photo. Amazing submissions...with each representing a great scene in a motorcycle traveler's journey.

So I was thinking about the same thing the other day. I had 17 pictures this year that were “calendar worthy”. Now I am completely aware that all 17 are not better than the bumper crop we have this year. But they are pretty damn good. As evident of my F’ed up ride report, I took a lot of pictures.

I easily could fill up a 12 picture year long calendar by myself. If I actually made a real effort and included my KLX, I have no doubt I could swing 25 images that are pretty good. If 15 people got 25 images, we are there. Now I dont know who in the heck is gonna manage all those or who would want to pay for that calendar, but I love seeing the images of my friends bikes. What I really would like to see is a caption on each picture. Basic info like location time bike rider and what made you go to this location etc....

I have a quite a few shots that I could have included in the calendar from past years. Or ones that have other bikes and people in them. One of my favorites got “ruined” become the bikes in the picture are not arranged on the proper angle. A few others have road signs or other crap that make them not worthy of a submission to me on a 1 shot calendar.

Anyway, I am officially not suggesting anything be added to Tim’s duties. We don’t pay him enough for this. I know projects like this are hard to keep ahold of and I appreciate everything Tim is doing on this to make it go so well. (Now if he can figure out how JWilly is cheating, I will really be impressed).

Dear Family and Friends,

I need an ego stroke by having the #1 picture on the FJRiders Forum, what a stud I'd be then. Please go to the FJRiders Forum and vote 5 for my awesome picture. Free beer for all voters!

Your best social media friend,

JWilly

I can name names if I want to. There are plenty of people who haven't voted for all of the images. Actually a surprising number only voted for one or two of them. Looking back at the 2018 calendar, most photos had twice as many votes as this year. There were also 150 more votes cast with 15 fewer images.

If I did a 365 day calendar, I would just grab quotes from the forum and tack them on the picture. That could be interesting.

I voted for all the photos...and I did not vote mine up. I voted honestly as I wanted the best photos in the excellent Riders Calendar. I'm shocked that Festus' photos didn't crack the top 12...they are outstanding.
EDIT: and what happened to gramp's photo? That one is stellar!...and even though I don't play in the dirt...EMs photo in the utility ROW is a classic...would love to see that one in there as well!

I have not voted for all the images yet; since voting does not end until the 8th, I've got plenty of time. Or maybe I'll just leave it at what I've already voted for, idk.

I definitely gave my own entries 5 star votes - and JWilly's a one star, because I could (but it is an awesome picture...)

I really like the Tenere shot in front of the flag by Kieefjr, and many others. There's not enough pages in the calendar, but not enough images to get a daily calendar done.

Going through the pictures reminded me of how little riding I was able to get in this year - and that really stings; more importantly, it gives me hope for a more active 2019 riding year for me...

I was kinda waiting for everyone to get their late entries in. Kinda had to pull the trigger today and I voted like Wheatie did.

Don't you dare! We require at least 1 submission from Tyler. Don't deny the calendar the right to a Tyler photo! :D

Tyler is a pretty good photographer and loveable but not too smart. She ran her submissions by me and she had nearly submitted the ugliest photo in the contest. I gave her my honest and thoughtful feedback on that image. Would be quite embarrassing at this point to see a Tyler photo at the bottom of the stack. Can we even vote zero stars?
