Theirs still a 2019 FJR on the Yamaha Canada website. The A model is gone. Only ES is shown. I think you'll see it back on the US site after EICMA, which starts next week.

You guys, there's going to be a new FJR1800 to compete with the sportier Goldwing 1800 that came out last year. Going to be a big reveal. Just watch.

It's interesting that in Canada you can get the current model, one in flat blue as a 2019 model, In the US you get the current model in flat blue as a 2018 model. In the EU, UK, or Australia you can get the current model in flat blue, no year model specified at all. Outside the US you can get the current models in grey or black depending on if it is an ES type model or not.

There must be a boat load of flat blue models to dispose of. Once most of those are gone, I suspect we'll see something a wee bit different.

I'd like a FJR1000 triple with paddle shifters and 100 lbs lighter.

If they could do that without any weight gain it would cost me some money. I've done a lot of miles on a K1600 GT (GerTrude) and it got tiring trying to dance with the fat hausfrau up and down California's winding roads. Following Bugnator along the Feather River I ground a few pounds off the old girl on the corners but it wore me out. If the displacement goes up, the weight can't follow or I won't follow.

I can't believe that Yamaha would let the FJR go PPFFFfffftttttttttt with no fanfare. Given the reign dynasty of the bike it should go out with some kind of a big flourish, one last ode to the brand that will leave a mark for a long time 8-)

If the new FJR is an 1800, then my days are numbered. I've already made a personal decision that I simply cannot have a motorcycle that is faster than the FJR1300. Could I afford it? Sure. Could I ride it? Sure. Do I have the discipline to ride it in a manner that is safe for myself and others, and would ensure that I stay out of jail?

Not a chance in the world.....

Which why I take it to the track to let the horses run wild. A few rides on a road circuit and a few rides down the drag strip shows that there is no way to really ride hard on public streets.

If the FJR is done...then the Tracer GT will be given a shot for one-up touring....
...or maybe I can test ride Griff's Triumph Sprint ST and see if that will do it???

Jim and Iris moved down here a few weeks ago, but are still getting settled in.

I've ridden with Jim and Iris a couple times. I believe I am a touch slow for them. ;)

Again, there's a little bit more space in Greenville County, South Carolina when you and Helen come down and stay with us for awhile as you scout out your new permanent southern residence.

So I guess it's official. FJR riders are annexing South Carolina.

Ya. I'm good with that decision.
