To loosen CCT, first turn engine to TDC #1, verify cam timing marks (arrows) on outboard side of cam sprockets (see pic in FSM). This is your reference point, more accurate than looking at the dots. Tie cam chain off at lower crankshaft sprocket. Remove CCT bolt (10mm wrench), insert narrow flat screwdriver into screw slot, turn CCW until fully out and it should (may not) temporarily lock in place in the unwound condition. I have successfully used locking pliers to hold the screwdriver while I went on with the cam removal. Zip tie the cam chain to the cams prior to removal. Unless of course, you want to fiddle later getting those cam sprocket marks lined up again.

When all done, release CCT by screwing clockwise, the spring will take it home. Verify it did by giving it a turn or two CCW with the screwdriver and releasing it. Happy? Spin motor over CW at the crankshaft, verify your valve clearances and the timing marks..... Happy? button it up.

Additional note - Before you loosen the CCT.... The anal would consider replacing the cam chain if the mileage is high, but make a judgement call based on how much "error in stretch" those timing marks line up if the crankshaft mark is perfectly positioned. New chain is $40.

Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can sure muffle the sound.
