GenII or GenIII

Post by DanP »

Hello all,

I have been a full sportbike rider for a lot of years (R1/R6 for many of them) but, as I am no longer as young as I used to be, I'm looking for a more comfortable commuter/travel bike. Pretending the cost didn't matter, would you think a 2012 (last year of GenII) or (2013 first year GenIII) would be the way to go for a bike I plan to keep/use a lot?

I'm on my third FJR and second GEN II no complaints with any of them. If money were no object and cruise control...GEN III wins out.

Thanks for the thoughts, I was leaning the same way. I think I would like the throttle-by-wire and cruise, but wonder would all the electronics be a liability later in life; first year bikes after a big change can have some bugs. I also really want it blue, so that's what's pulling me back to 2012.
