Don finds out that the GenIII is the biggest POS of all

Post by yamafitter »

Don managed to snap off the windscreen of his POS GenIII while it was still on the trailer being towed to Owosso. We are not sure if it was the bike resisting going to Owosso or if the new windscreen design is not as robust as the vastly superior and technologically advanced Gen II AE that I have.
I'm sure BeemerDons or Bust will be along shortly to provide all the details.

I'm guessing he hung his coat on the windshield. That'd be like putting a circus tent on it.

Actually the real issue was the dingle balls that he had put around the edge of the windscreen... You know how those wanna- be Mexicans are about decorating their bikes. Those little dingle balls were just flapping in the wind and the plastic finally gave up. I bet he has a sombrero that is DOT approved for riding!

Does this mean that since the windscreen let go at about 60 miles per hour, that Don has never had the bike above 50????

Well his BMW's won't go above 60, and theirs just no way the Yamaha is faster than one of his koolaid bikes.

Alright you Jokers, I'll have you know that I was all the way up to 65mph when the windshield snapped. I would not consider riding an FJR without dingle balls and tres Mexican flags, es Verdad ese! Check out 'Zilla's FJR sometime, he has an El Toro Piñata hanging off of his windshield, AJ es un muy malo Hombre ese!

So, did the windscreen break or did it just break free from the plastic screws?

I suspect that towing on an open trailer with no person behind the windscreen would put a lot more stress on that windscreen than normal riding.

Or maybe it was that PURE Michigan air?
My wife asked me why I speak so softly around the house. I said that I was worried that someone was listening. She laughed, I laughed, Alexa laughed.

My understanding is that the windscreen was a complete redesign for 2013 and are not interchangeable.

I have a GenII in my basement. It's seen some miles but I can ship it ahead to where you'll be, if you want. Perhaps it can have a couple holes drilled or whatever to make it fit.
