Something is broken. Might be the new battery, more likely it's the trickle charger.

Cheap trickle chargers ruined two of my wife's batteries.

Now, her battery charger is me. At least once every two weeks, I get to buzz around town on her scarlet FZ-07 for an hour. It's a fun little bike!

Any charger that is a "trickle" charger will eventually kill a lead-acid battery! Trickle chargers (the dumb ones) will put out up to 15V or more but generally low current. This is fine until the battery is fully charged. Unfortunately, they don't stop there and over charge the battery which will totally destroy it in a fairly short period of time. A "smart" battery maintainer will charge until the battery is full and then go to a "float" voltage (~13,6 to 13.8 V IIRC). The best of these are temperature compensated so the float voltage adjusts slightly as a function of the ambient temperature. Especially important if using the tender in particularly warm or cold conditions.

I sometimes use a dumb trickle charger but monitor the voltage carefully as full charge is approached. I never use a tender or maintainer - FJR parasitic draw is incredibly low and it isn't needed unless the battery has a soft short and is on its way out.
