Howdy from Kliembiddle
As an introduction: Im an old guy, 68 yrs young riding since 15/16. Like to do trip distance. I usually buy a bike and ride it till high mileage. Service work is always home bound? I bought the FJR because it was low mileage? leftover/demo? Had 1037 miles at purchase. Now has 6500. Before the purchase I rode my r1150r out to Nevada on 2 lanes. This winter if it ever leaves, will start some short trips and plan on a river run down the Ohio to the Mississippi and into Louisiana? (hopefully) Just trying to add and refine. Have sr 357 coming and thinking about a taller windshield. Liked the Beemer fer the lightness and the mileage. So far Ive liked the mileage of the FJR. Anyway..mostly a reader and not much of a poster? de Kliembiddle

Re: Howdy from Kliembiddle
Hello and welcome!!
Following the Ohio to Mississippi and south sounds like it could be a great adventure. I remember watching the series that Alton Brown did called, "=https://www.amazon.com/Feasting-Asphal ... River Run" where they road north up the Mississippi, eating their way north...

Ah yes.... my heart still swells with pride when I tell people about the time my good friend Josh (Cav 47) came to see me, and I put 5 pounds on him in 4 days. I'm sure it will be a while before I can top that Kliembiddle, but I'm more than willing to give it a shot.

Re: Howdy from Kliembiddle
Well, I'm pretty good at math. If you've been riding since 1516, that would make you over 502 years old, NOT 68 as you claim.
Careful, Kliembiddle, if indeed that is your real screen name, I'm watching you. We ain't idjits around here.

Welcome. When are you going to tell us how you came up with your forum name? It sounds kinda German, but I've never heard that word or name.

Well Im pretty aged but 502 is a bit high! Riding steadily since age15/16....now over 7500 on the fjr. added the givi top case rack, and being frugal...modded my cheap TMS case that was on my Beemer...now I dont worry about losing Mom...take too long to train another? Waiting for the touring windshield...and added...ahem....my Shinkos...great tires..009 Ravens...well flak away!Uncle Hud wrote: ↑Fri Mar 16, 2018 1:27 pm Well, I'm pretty good at math. Yes! Well, if that were so, he'd have introduced himself as, "Duncan MacLeod, of the clan MacLeod," and there would probably be lightning nearby.silverback wrote: ↑Sun May 13, 2018 9:20 pm THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!
