Hello from NTX...

Post by txvoyager »

Hello, I'm just NE of Dallas, so we are just getting to the great riding weather time of year. I've had a couple of FJR's -- a 2003 and now a 2009. Always enjoy the wisdom of the collective.

Welcome.

I've on my last FJR - a 2009 as well. I say "last FJR" because my wife says if I wreck this one, I can't have another...

Welcome to the forum. I have a 09 heavily farckled to make it fit me with 80k miles. I don't have plans to sell it is nearly worthless now, so I may as well ride into to the ground, er ah wear it out. I don't want to have anymore intimate experiences with the asphalt.
Searching for roads paved with Asphalt, unless I am riding the mighty DR650 bushpig.

Ah yes, that NTXFJR guy. He's our only Dallas resident. Point him out. Wouldn't want to forget about him would we? Nope. :D

Welcome Txvvoyager. Seems like there's got to be at least half a dozen or more of us here in DFW now.

Beautiful weather we have here lately. I took the long way home through NW Arkansas last weekend. We'll have to get a meet going one of these days, how about that cat fish place in E Texas?

My apologies to my gixxer brother. That was insensitive of me.

I know where the catfish place is - if you guys want to meet in the middle, just say when.

Also, I'm kind of jonesing to do a camping weekend in Boykin Springs. Maybe next month.

Anyway, I am not from TX, but I bought my 14 from a guy in Alvord, which is Northwest of Dallas.

So, I hope that qualifies me to welcome you to the madness here.

Also, I am insensitive as a rule. Just sayin'. Image

Welcome to the Forum.

Those people from TX are good peeps, despite their forum persona. I spent some time in North TX. Not in prison, but at my Grandpas in Sherman. All great memories from down there. Go to a meet and enjoy the wealth of knowledge and friendship from these folks if you get a chance. You have a couple nearby. Well nearby, when you measure it with the ability of an FJR to eat up miles. Under 500 from McKinney to West Plains this weekend at Hooterville. Or 650 from Jemision for SFO. Both are great meet ups.
I often have found myself when I was not looking, nor did that discovery take place where I thought it would!

Just giving you a hard time. I mean, if someone posted from Louisiana I'd be sure to point them to our one and only decent La resident, hppants. :D

Doing the camping thing at SFO but might be up for another one depending on the weekend.

When you join the Iron Butt Association you get your official IBA number. But if you complete the Iron Butt Rally, you get a new three digit number. Much harder to get that three digit number.

OH, okay. Now that I read his signature, it makes sense. That dude is in another league. Those are impressive certifications. I have done a couple of Saddle Sores, but never turned in the paperwork. It was nice to know that I can do it if needed. So it is not official.

However, I am an official proud member of the Candy Butt Association! Much more of an exclusive club.
