Re: Newbie
Sorry for the delay. But I did it guys...
O miles on the odometer...
And then I proceeded immediately to splash gasoline all over the bike and ruin my plastics because I ride the short bus at times. Didn't realize that the nozzle needs to go ALL THE WAY INTO THE SMALLER HOLE...
Either way, it was the fastest and most enjoyable 359 mile ride back home. I'm loving it...

Thanks. I need to get out of Chicago. Insurance rates for those who live in the city is just insane.

Oooohh - she's a looker. Well done. Your plastics are fine, just put a good coat of wax or polish (or both) on them and re-apply as necessary.
I hope you enjoy your bike.

Re: Newbie
Thanks all!
You know, not even 10 minutes after picking up the bike I stopped by a local burger joint and as I was getting off the bike someone asks, "Is that a BMW?"

Mine has a huge real time industries Yamaha tuning fork decal down the sides and people still ask. Get use to it. If your license plate said notbmw you would still get asked.

Re: RE: Re: Newbie
No disrespect to our "seasoned" rider base but it's an FJR. If you want to increase the babe ratio, you need to ride to the local bingo hall ... You will be beating them off with walkers !!! Most are darn experienced though ..baowow wrote: ↑Mon Mar 20, 2017 5:30 pmI find that motorcycles tend to attract dudes more than babes. I hope you are correct about the graphite attracting more babes as I would like this ratio to increase from the current 0 babes.Uncle Hud wrote:1) Welcome.
2) I used to live off Sheridan Road. Great Lakes Naval Training Center barracks in the mid-1970s. It never gets warm there.
3) 2015 models are the schnizzle. Liquid Graphite attracts babes.
4) Aunt Kelly has an SV650; it weighs less than a fully-loaded FJR saddlebag. Scary thing to ride through town.
5) If you can wheelie your FJR -- real wheelie, not just lift the front tire -- please post it here. I will be impressed.
I don't know if this is good news to you are not ... But reality none the less ...

Re: Newbie
Good advice. These bingo hall patrons, I'm sure they have babe daughters that come pick them up.

Re: Newbie
Congrats on the new bike. I did the exact same thing when I first filled my tank up. Yelled at myself "dumbass!". People at the station were looking at me like I was nuts or something. How does that color compare to the 08 AE. Looks similar.

Re: RE: Re: Newbie
I used plastic restorer for the black panels and it's good as new. As for the 08 AE, I think the 08 is lighter in color. The 15 is a darker shade of gray. But they are real close according to pictures I see onlineBigfoot wrote:Congrats on the new bike. I did the exact same thing when I first filled my tank up. Yelled at myself "dumbass!".
