Also if you think of it as more of a pushing the stand into the ground instead of lifting the back in the air it will be much easier.

BTW: If no has said anything yet, it's called a Center Stand (as opposed to the side stand you've had in the past).

Pretty cool when you watch it lift itself up with the rider still on the bike. Pretty expensive when it craps out.

Had to go look that one up. This video shows a really cool use for that, because this is much more difficult with a manual one and a heavy bike.

I had difficulties with using the centerstand the first coupe of times when I had my 06. when I got my 15, I thought I was going to launch it into neighbors yard. For a REALLY fun time, do it while wearing rubber soled sandals.

I had heard on the forums that the Gen3 was much easier to put on the centerstand. The first time I tried it was on the very first 2014A I had ever seen, brand new on the showroom floor. I did it the same way I always did the '07. I scared the hell out of myself and the salesman when I nearly launched the damn thing into a whole row of other brand new bikes.

I had come out of 10 years of Gold Wings. When I put the FJR on the center stand the first time, I litterally FLUNG it back; skittering backwards on the by-then-well-set center stand.

and yes, you'll get used to it.

I don't use the handle in the frame. I feel that is at an awkward angle or reach for me. I use the passenger grab rail. But I also don't use excessive brute strength on that.

More in the leg to step, not the arm to lift. My 2cents. Enjoy. lol.

I don't use the handle in the frame. I feel that is at an awkward angle or reach for me. I use the passenger grab rail. But I also don't use excessive brute strength on that.

I started off using that technique, but that requires more pushing down on the lever. Moving forward to use the handle feels awkward, but allows you to do more of a back and down push instead of just straight down. Because of the way the lever action works, this requires less force to get the bike up. After a few tries I realized it was so much easier that way, but at first it definitely was awkward. Sometimes those engineers do actually get something right.

Not really painful. Bend your knee, make sure the ball of your foot is on the center stand's pad, and straighten out your knee while your right hand pulls up and back.
