Sales Numbers
I've been trying to find FJR sales and/or production numbers for either all or GenII and GenIII. I know I have seen them somewhere but Google searches have not provided much.
Thanks

Re: Sales Numbers
The Motorcycle Industries generally accepted source of truth for New Motorcycle sales is the MIC Data. MIC=Motorcycle Industry Council, the MIC publishes an annual sales report " MIC Retail Sales Report - MIC members may receive reports of motorcycle and ATV retail unit sales provided by participating manufacturers and distributors. The MIC Retail Sales Reports are optional, and available to MIC members only. You MUST complete, sign and return an MIC Retail Sales Report Restricted Use Agreement to receive these documents.
Quarterly U.S. motorcycle sales by brand, model type – Included with membership Annual state motorcycle sales by brand, model type and cc (U.S. ATV sales by cc) - $200 per year. Quarterly state motorcycle sales by brand, model type and cc (U.S. ATV sales by cc) - $600 per year. " As you can see it is not easy to get ahold of and only covers bikes sold in the USA.
I'm guessing that for competitive reasons, Mama Yama will not release sales figures if asked.
I have some MIC member friends in the industry and I'll see if one might volunteer to have someone go through past year reports and tell me how many FJR's were sold in which years in the USA'
Please reply or PM me exactly what you want to know so I don't have to ask twice.

Re: Sales Numbers
If it's easy to get....... It would be interesting to know the sales for all the sport tourer's FJR, C14, ST1300, and maybe GL1800 as comparison for the last 10 yrs. Sure there's others on the list that would be interesting. However, asking for that kind of favor sounds pretty big. We know the ST market is shrinking... FJR's only would be OK.

Re: Sales Numbers
I think comparing Gen II numbers to Gen III numbers would be interesting. Judging by the number of Gen III's at the meets, it's been a runaway success. But in comparison to other categories, well lets just say I'm thankful to Yammie, and all other manufacturers for continuing to build their flagship motorcycles.

Re: Sales Numbers
Well, if we can get the numbers by year, then we can analyze them any way we please. I'm sure we can discuss them for quite a while during the winter months.bigjohnsd wrote:so, what specific years do you want lumped together?
Gen 2
Gen 3
My wife asked me why I speak so softly around the house. I said that I was worried that someone was listening. She laughed, I laughed, Alexa laughed.

Re: Sales Numbers
I would agree the numbers by individual year tell a lot more story than lumping.... 2003 thru 2016 would be great, but I'm not sure what is possible......

Re: Sales Numbers
I would like to know how many Gen I's were sold in the USA, how many Gen II's and how many Gen III's.
There is a report by the Motorcycle Industry ??? that has all the numbers but it costs something like $300. I'm not that interested.
