Re: Official 2017 Calendar Contest
Ok, I'll throw this one in. I was torn between the picture of my FJR in my livingroom, the picture of my top case full of beer and ice, and the picture of MadMudder standing on the guardrail by the waterfall taking a leak.

Re: Official 2017 Calendar Contest
Aww crap.
OK, so this has been much more popular than the Nighthawk. Actually I stopped doing that one because I had to beg people to vote and submit pictures. Doesn't look like that will be the case here.
Ray, sorry but for the moment, I can't include your picture just yet. I'm going to see if we can add more options without resetting the votes. Stand by.

Re: Official 2017 Calendar Contest
I initially thought this was a great idea. Now I HATE it. I like every single picture that has been submitted. I am struggling to find a "winner" out of a group where every one is a Winner. I want all of them.
I guess this is how my wife feels when she goes grocery shopping...
And Wheaton? Please leave your pic. It is wonderful.

Yeah, I hate to say this, but I agree with Redfish...the photos are outstanding and it is hard to pick.

There's always next year. Since we have more entries than I thought we would, I bumped the number you can vote for to 12.Redfish wrote:I initially thought this was a great idea. Now I HATE it. Re: Official 2017 Calendar Contest
Please don't make changes because of my whining. I am just Happy to be Here.
If you think about it we (FJR Riders) cover a LOT of ground and ride to a LOT of beautiful and awesome places. We love our bikes just as much as any other brand loyal group. FJRs are fairly expensive, they have beautiful lines, and they are photogenic. A rider with enough money to buy a bike like this might also have enough to invest in a decent camera.
What other group of motorcycle enthusiasts would have better pictures?
I am sooo ready to buy this calendar. Of course if MY pic is in it then it would be that much better...

I haven't voted yet.... they're all good. Yep, there'll be another calendar needed next year..... how about an electronic one, where the pictures just keep scrolling as a slide show?

I know I got a ride report to finish, but leaving out the best machine of all time would be a travesty. LOL

Re: Official 2017 Calendar Contest
It wasn't your whining (entirely) that had me change it. I just didn't expect this kind of response so quickly and this is the first time I've done it with a forum poll. You may be right about being more photogenic, along with owners that may have better photography capabilities and travel opportunities.Redfish wrote:Please don't make changes because of my whining. Now what I did in the past was hosted these on another site I created. Each user went through and rated each picture on a 1-5 star scale. Then through some highly sophisticated algorithms linked to NASA supercomputers, sprinkled with fairy dust and liquid cooled through unicorn tears, it ranked the pictures. The first year I did it, I only allowed 1 picture per user. The following years, I allowed up to 5 per user but only the top picture from each user got in. But we lost interest and I had a hard time getting pictures. It wasn't worth the effort.
But if the response for this site will be like this, I'd do the ratings site again if that's what you wanted. This year was a bit short notice to do that.
Old contest was here for anyone that wants to take a look.

Re: Official 2017 Calendar Contest
I like 'em all but I think you are going to have to pick just one for submission.
And when I say "submission" I am not talking about what that girl did in Fifty Shades of Gray, I mean something different.
