Hello

Post by uscs344 »

High all current owner of a 07 FJR. Reside in the Birmingham Alabama Area. I've had the bike for about two years now and honestly I absolutely hated it with its snappy throttle. Finally put on an old Power commander III with Walley's smoothness map and man what a big improvement. Finally enjoying the bike and have rode it everyday since.

Welcome from a fellow 07 owner.
I run a PC III on mine also to reduce the FI induced snatchiness. A couple other things that help is to make sure all play is removed in the throttle cable and install a G2 throttle tamer: http://www.g2ergo.com/store/g2-street-t ... ttle-tube/
The G2 tube has a modified cam profile that eases the off/on throttle transition. It's possible to take a dremel tool to the stock cam, but this tube is the sure thing if you're not comfortable shaving plastic with a dremel bit.

Thanks for the advise Ill look into it. The induced snatchiness was too much for me and I was ready to get rid of the bike. Now I am just mad at myself for taking a year to put on the PCIII. It had been sitting in the tool box and I just forgot all about it.

Mileage is about 36 to 37 mpg if I'm easy on the throttle. I'd love to have a copy of your map if available. Thanks. My fjr is stock exhaust and stock air filter o2 sensor disconnected. Thankd

The smoothness map was a bit rich, but did perhaps improve performance, at the expense of gas mileage. I'm going to say use the stock map that comes with a PCV, adapted for PCIII...... swapped that out on BillyFitz bike this summer, as he was fillling up a lot sooner than the rest of us... to me, no need to be as rich as the smoothness maps. Lemme look in my map collection, expect a PM one day soon.
