I immediately picked up on that also. That's how I've always told passengers to ride, but don't know how many actually do that. I just know that when the wife was on the back, I would drag pegs and got no complaints from her or the bike.fontanaman wrote:Regarding this image, check out where the lady's head is looking! She is very engaged in the ride. Holy smokes.

Re: 2017 FJR ES
I just tell Louanne to look over my shoulder in the direction we are going...left or right curve. It has worked out in some semi-spirited riding so far. She hasn't complained except when the inevitable "spirited" pass occurs.

The Yamaha web pages shows this:palerider wrote:
Are there any features different from the 2016?
Fairing-Mounted Storage
A glove box is built into the upper fairing and includes a 12V outlet ideal for charging phones, GPS units, electric vests and other compact electrical devices.
This may well be a typo, but maybe they actually upped the wire size and fuse for that outlet so that it will support an electric vest. Don't try this with your 16 or earlier FJR unless you like replacing fuses.

Re: 2017 FJR ES
Yamaha's not doing a very good job selling police bikes here, and I can't imagine a better choice. Both the Harleys and BMWs are expensive and unreliable, but both have much better PR than Yamaha. The FJRs are relatively inexpensive both to purchase and maintain and are nearly bulletproof, easily breaking 100,000 miles. I don't get it.RiderX wrote:What about that police FJR in the background?
