New Gen1 ABS owner checking in
Just picked up my "new" FJR today.
Rode it home 50 miles, so I am very close to rolling 6300 miles on the odometer! (Yep, no missed "0")
I have owned Yamahas since the 90's - starting with a Seca 2, then Virago 750, VMax and now the FJR.
Sweet ride....
I have a buddy coming up tomorrow on his CVO bagger to go riding around Vermont. Can't wait...

Re: New Gen1 ABS owner checking in
Welcome. I sorely miss my Vmax. I had 97' and trying to force it to corner is what lead me to the FJR. Was starting to think about picking up another vmax last year, but ended up inheriting my fathers 02' VTX 1800c instead. Enjoy the FJR!
Trying to be different, just like everyone else.

I haven't ridden a VMax, but would love to. That 04 looks pristine! Many good miles ahead for you sir!

No question about how much better the handling is on the FJR.Calimus wrote:Welcome. I sorely miss my Vmax. I had 97' and trying to force it to corner is what lead me to the FJR. I was in a position to either drop some serious $$$ to upgrade my VMax to radial vie new rims or get an FJR.
I am glad I got the FJR, but will miss the badass attitude of the VMax, once it is sold.
I took my wife on a tour of covered bridges around Bennington VT and found it to be awesome on the FJR.

Welcome! My first FJR was an '04ABS. There is a fairly good sized New England FJR contingent - welcome aboard.
Ride There!

Welcome. WOW that must be some sort of low mileage record.
Searching for roads paved with Asphalt, unless I am riding the mighty DR650 bushpig.

Welcome from a fellow 04 owner. I just rolled over 80K on mine. You're just scratching the surface of the mileage. Good luck and post here often. We are here to help!!
I often have found myself when I was not looking, nor did that discovery take place where I thought it would!

Re: New Gen1 ABS owner checking in
Welcome. What a score on that low miles FJR. I can't believe people can let one sit in the garage and not ride daily. I think I had that many miles on my 07 in the first few months of ownership.
