Just curious if anyone has used or is using any of the Dale Walker Holeshot Performance stuff? Particularly the pipes and the EFI Supertune Tuning Box.

Seems like there's not a lot out there for performance upgrades for the FJR. I've always been a tinkerer and usually can't help trying to boost things a little bit where possible.

I have heard of some guys using a tuner on the gen2 stuff to smooth out the low end. I am not sure there is a lot of performance stuff out there.
I may not be that old, and I am certainly not dead, but I am an engineer. So, my curiosity of such things lead me to look into what would be the most power gain out of an FJR exhaust. After running several different versions of the numbers, it really looks like Yamaha got the tuning just about right. Maybe you could get a custom grind cam and a matching exhaust and boost it a bit, but hey, 146 ponies does me just fine.
I have thought of figuring out a ram air intake though. More study required on that...

iirc, uselesspickles did a full Walker holeshot header/mufflers plus a pcv and airbox modifications, and managed to squeeze a few additional ponies over stock, with a slight reduction of low-end torque.
Aftermarket mufflers is probably the least expensive method of gaining a bit more power, without impacting too much on low end torque, but there will be some increase in exhaust noise.
I had a pcv/autotune on my '11, but I've removed it and now am just running staintune cans. I think there's a very slight increase in hp, maybe 3-5, and the torque is pretty much the same. It's certainly sufficient for my needs, and the cans make a nice throaty sound!

I've kind of wondered if Yamaha just did a really good job on this bike. I have read about smiting it the low end on the older bikes, but I have to say, my '14 is super smooth all the way through.
I wouldn't mind a little bit more tone, but it's hard to justify the money for mostly a sound difference and not really much power improvement.
Maybe I should just look at having my stock system ceramic coated black.
