Glovebox opening

Post by silverback »

First gen. Is there a way to inhibit the neutral interlock on the glovebox door? I'd like to open it when not in neutral so I can hit the garage door opener without shifting into neutral. However, I would still like the key on feature enabled.

You mean yours still works? LOL.

Worst design ever. Once it breaks you can put it on a magnet or latch.

I pulled the solenoid out so the latch worked all the time.
Not the same as you asked , but you can also power the solenoid from a circuit the is on with the ignition switch instead.

This is something you'll have to gin up yourself: Rewire the solenoid so it runs off an always-on circuit and with a hidden pushbutton. Then you can activate the solenoid when you want without having the ignition on, but the door will still otherwise be locked.

I put my garage door opener in the clear pocket on top of my tank bag.

Keep an eye on it there, that clear pocket can get hot. I only use the clear pocket on my tank bag for beef jerky.......I put the bag in there and in about an hour it is nice and warm :D
