Go Cruise Throttle Lock

Post by fontanaman »

I learned about this $20 throttle lock from a fellow FJR rider. It is called Go Cruise. It uses the break lever as a stop; just open the throttle and push it to the brake lever with one finger. Just do a web search to find it at your favorite store.

I bought one and for $20 bucks it works great so far. Get the 7/8 size not the 1 inch size. Don't ask me how I know. The size refers to the handlebar not the hand grip diameter.

I have used it for one day so don't have much experience with it (hence the so far qualifier in the last paragraph).

I got it for those long rides on the slab, short breaks or tension relief.

Tech junk:

1) It slips when you want to roll off the throttle. Easy.
2) Like other throttle locks it won't hold speed on up or down hill sections.
Searching for roads paved with Asphalt, unless I am riding the mighty DR650 bushpig.

I just bought one of these for my dualsport. Since the d/s has short grips, I like that I can easily remove it when I dont need it and put it in my tank bag or pocket.
Lifes to short, lets go for a ride!

Yeah, I have the aluminum version. It has a tension screw that is easy enough to adjust on the fly.

Its certainly not cruise control, but it works for me.

Works well on the Tenere for some hand R & R. Use it a lot.
