My name is Peter and I ride an '05 FJR

Post by dudeckp »

15 years between bike #3 and this absolute gem of a motorcycle bought from a good friend last month. Added some brighter lights front & rear to see & be seen. Modestly farkling as I work towards some LD riding over the next several years.

Now in New York near the state next to Danbury, CT; already enjoying the many back roads that will make my 40+ mile commute worth the ride. (Re-)gearing up after my forced four wheel hiatus. Taking a couple of the MSF courses over the next few months, maybe see someone from this group in Newburgh soon!

Done so far:
55W HID Bi-Xenon Headlamps
2x LR4 Floods from LEDRider.com
TomTom Rider (2013) for finding twisties
PDM60 for farkle juice
Scotchlite here and there (more to come)
Fenda Xtenda
Various & sundry RAM mounts

Soon:
Garauld's Highway Pegs (enroute)
2x LR64 Spots from LEDRider.com (enroute)
LED Instrument panel lights (next time the cowling' off)
Russel Day-Long Solo
Smuggler or LEO trunk
Android tablet (for Bubbler, music, weather, nav and other distractions)
USB & various other farkle juice outlets
Better C/C??

Welcome to the fold. There is a pretty big group of folks from NY and New England on this forum and fjrforum.com.

I'll be in Newburgh on Sunday, but it will be in the car with my family for Father's Day dinner.
My wife asked me why I speak so softly around the house. I said that I was worried that someone was listening. She laughed, I laughed, Alexa laughed.

Welcome aboard the FJR where we have more smile per post!

I have a Russell seat - you might want to look at Laam seats too. I would if I were in the market again. I was not aware of Lamm when I bought my Russell. No complaints with the Russell - it is very comfy but the Laam saddle does not have the wings so you can move around on the saddle easier when the road gets twisty. If comfort is your primary goal the Russell may have an edge.

What is a Bubbler? I looked it on Google and found reference to device used for smoking pot but I doubt you are getting smoking pot on the road.
Searching for roads paved with Asphalt, unless I am riding the mighty DR650 bushpig.

Bubbler GPS - Poor man's SPOT. It's a smartphone app that does most of what the SPOT devices do, minus the transmit by satellite.
