Old owner - new to forum

Post by Bbbrowles »

2007 fjr. I have owned it since 2009. It sat for a couple years…after looking I really hate to say how long I left my baby in the garage. Life got in the way but now I am riding again. No more disappearing for the weekend (except tech day)but will be riding.

Lot of old owners here as well. But 148HP at the crank reminds you that age is just a number...and for a few of us, the immaturity never goes away. Lol.

Welcome home.

I hate to say it was more than 2. :?

It went smooth. I put fuel stabilizer in before I stop riding for the winter which probably helped. I decided to drain the tank and put new fuel in before I even tried to start it. It fired right up. A mouse had made a nest under the seat. I decided to have dealer go through it just to make sure. I was …less than happy. I wanted them to really look so told them to do spark plugs as well so they would pull the tank. Really…my opinion..they did nothing but break my battery cover. I got it home and changed fluids (they did oil). She runs great in my opinion. To me like the day i bought her.

Wayne...you can probably help me out then. I am looking for interesting day trips in this area. Maybe not even day...few hours. I am not originally from here although I have lived here for 9 years. Wife told me to go to Hell a couple of weeks ago and I did. I found it to be a nice ride. rayZerman suggested on another forum Gillmore. I haven't been there in a while so rode there as well. I am sure there are other places to ride without heading to the UP (yet).

I often have found myself when I was not looking, nor did that discovery take place where I thought it would!

I am perty damn stupid. —-Hiking my pants up to my armpits—- there was a time when I used to say I need to ride every month of the year. After I got caught in a snow storm on a goldwing I no longer felt that need. As far as moving south to ride all year…my fat arse sweats when it is 60 out. I moved to Canada for a few years because I thought it snowed 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Came back to the states with a fiance…told ya I’m perty stupid. Border crossing “how do you know each other” me - “we just got engaged”. US side - “you cant do that!! You need to file all this paperwork. We need to approve your proposal. We ned to background check both of you!! “. Canada side “congratulations eh”.

The feejer still puts a smile on my face and is a hazard to my license. I need to up my maintenance game because she is getting older. I plan on putting a few thousand on a year but no more week long adventures.
