Confirming 5:00pm Motorcycle Crash First Aid presentation at the Best Western. We will try to commandeer the Breakfast Room, or the patio if dry.

Just back from an excellent "Motorcycle Crash First Aid/First Actions" by Anthony Vopat.
Lots of good questions from the audience of about 25 attendees.

Brutal afternoon heat to Cody, Wyoming. 98-107 on the bike. Although 81 was darn nice crossing the Big Horn mountains.

Home safe about 10 hours after leaving the beautiful Spearfish City Campground. Only had one beer leak in my pannier. So calling it a win. A great non-rally, John, the presentations from Anthony and Wendy were icing on the cake. And the actual cake was also good!

We detoured to the badlands for about 90 minutes. Line was blown away by it so, good detour. Pulled into Sioux Falls for some Cracker barrel. Waited 25 minutes to take our order after Line complained. Another 30 minutes later, no drinks on the table.

Waited a few moments to complain to the manager who was busy laughing with her employees who weren't working. Walked across the parking lot to Ruby Tuesdays. Always a good choice.

We were gonna run into Minnesota but blah, lots of campers in the parking lot here. 30 minutes on a trip like this is no big deal. So here we sit. Freebie! To cover the extra cost of Ruby Tuesdays.

It was a hot one today, of your still traveling manage the heat.

Home safe. Left Spearfish about 5:15 Mountain time. Got home at 9:15 Central time. I think that is right at 15 hours. 1062 miles was the total with gas/pee/food stops.

Just under 71mph average including stops. You gotta love SD speed limits. Unfortunately that higher average contributed to about 18 mpg overall by my calculations.

Be safe all of you that are still traveling.

Gotta give BJSD another shout out for another stellar event. He is a great host and true ambassador for motorcycling as well as fostering relationships across communities.

Well done Sir!

Festar, JREW and I left Spearfish at 0800. Flat Whites in Buffalo WY.
Tired after a hot day. Cloud Peak Skyway (US 16), Shell Canyon (US 14) Burgess Junction US 14A, Chief Joseph Parkway (WY 296), Beartooth Pass in a gale. 558.5 miles in 10 hours 15 minutes - 0800 - 1815.

Saw 105f a few times. Detoured over Chief Joseph and Beartooth to get out of the heat. Cool here in Red Lodge now. FYB and Gary here as well.

Heading to Pterodactyl’s in Helena tomorrow.

Stay tuned.

I headed for Velva N.D where I had planned to stop for the night..when I got there the owner/manager was no where to be found, and wasn’t answering his cel phone. One of the other inhabitants informed me that he was at the lake with his grandchildren….so I grabbed a can of Red Bull and headed for the nearest 24hr Border crossing and got home around 10:00…

Great non-event BJ!..Many Thanks..

In Sioux City, packing up to head north to Superior, Wisconsin. I now know why you flatlanders come out west.😁

Waking up in a Wally world parking lot in Escanaba Mi. This morning. Crappy fuel mileage yesterday driving into an angled headwind all day. Should be home by this evening.

Heat finally broke near the lake. This morning I'm being serenaded by rain and thunder. Great sleep though, much cooler around 65f

Did you survive on that BMW stock seat, or are you posting this from the ortho doktor waiting room?

The stock seat, with the front and middle raised with a kit from Wunderlich to stop my butt sliding forwards…with a sheepskin on it, with a pair of Moto-Skivees gitch got the seat comfortable for 2.5 hrs. I generally lasted 3.0 hrs before I had to pull over.
The seat is going to RDL tomorrow…I won’t get it back until early August…just in time to ride to Nova Scotia.

Got in about an hour ago. True to form for the last few ld trips something happened close to home. This time it was detour because of accident. Probably a fatal because they closed the hwy.

Showered and ready for a serious sleep.

Gary and I got to Burnspot's place outside of Boise about 1900 Mt. 611 miles. Bike took a dirt nap when I was trying to turn it around in gravel to not go down a gravel road. Third road tech Day tomorrow. Left mirror stay broken. The rest of the story to come.
