Road trip! Shotgun!!
Road trip!
Out just after sunrise to a promising sky.
North through Pocahontas County, WV and the Greenbrier Valley of the New River for unimpeded morning traffic flow.
Soon crossed over the Allegheny Front near Frost, WV to a pit stop in the Jackson River of the James in Monterey, VA.
In Highland County, VA, I crossed from the upper Jackson into the Potomac watershed, but the transition is so subtle I have yet to pinpoint the divide.
Intrinsic beauty surrounds.
Crossed back into Pendleton County, WV and through the busy town of Franklin.
Grant County, WV farmland.
My feeble mind was focused on getting it done at the dealership and I forgot to take a pic.
But I did ride off on a sweet 50 mile loop on a spanky new bike and snapped a couple in its natural environs. I tried to find a twisty road but this one had to suffice.
Honda went all Henry Ford with “you can have any color you want as long as it's black”.
Loaded and southbound!
I kept glancing in the rearview half expecting to hear “I am your father” Darth whispered in my ear.
A watergap between Lick and Peters Mountain has long opened the way for travelers to pass to the New River watershed and exit the Chesapeake Bay entering the Gulf of Mexico headwaters. Marking the winds of home of my aesthetic feast for the eyes, the hot and sexy Ms. Smoky.
A shout out to my good friend Eric at Tri-County Honda et al in Petersburg, WV for once again making "new bike day" buttery smooth The place might run without the unflappable "Mr. We'll Make It Work", but not anywhere near as well. And by his suggestion of route, he helped name my new ride!
Thank you good sir.

Expect a diaster zone. I launched a long overdue room by room declutter and deep clean of the house interior. Looks like a bomb hit. Progress has been slow. Hope to make good headway during the hot spell forecast as it's way too warm for outdoors. We'll manage.
But before the humidity arrives, I gotta go RIDE!!!

Jim,
You may have to upsize that helmet with your cheek-widening grin bustin out the sides!
Finally...someone around here that knows how to smile.

That's a fine look bike, congrats.
I do like the "selfie" picture with your ear to ear grin. It warms my heart to see you happy.
Good on ya, Jim!

Re: Road trip! Shotgun!!
Nimble. Linear power. Engaging or laid back. Smoky seems ok with however you choose. First real mountain paved back road today. Too much fun for pics. Grade A+.
Quandry...
Need more legroom (anticipated going in) and to be seated more upright as I'm spoiled by dual sports.
Unbelievable (to me) how much boot choice influences controls.
Options:
Tall seat (likely means bar risers too, may be needed anyway, a little too much weight on wrists for an old man) or lowered pegs (shifter and brake lever adjustments, loss of clearance looks insignificant, pricey bits).
Which first?
All 3?
Suggestions???

Comfort first, which bothers you the most. Once comfortable then you can start looking at other things. No sense ruining your fun with discomfort.
