Those were Duane's tires...they didn't want to come off. My repaired collarbone got load tested today. Hopefully, its a few years hence, but once I can't pry my own tires on and off the wheel, the nomar and the bike go on the market.

Took off and put on a PR4GT...with family discount...thus affordable. Balanced said tire. Getting old sucks. Took an hour walk with wifey and that took the wind out of my sails. Will clean frame and finish install tomorrow after STAX with griff...as well as change clutch and brake fluids.

With high winds today and tomorrow, epic NGA riding planned for Sunday.
No, no, no. Just means you go to an air and electric solution, or one within riding distance. ;) Much less stress on the collarbone. What's your epic N. GA plan?
Follow Lumberg. Its always epic somehow.

450 miles today with 3 close friends under cloudless skies and perfect temperature. We had a nice ride.

I made one critical mistake changing lanes (left to right), did NOT look over my right shoulder, and nearly sideswiped a vehicle passing on the right. Mind you, that asshole didn’t even attempt to merge away, slow down, or avoid the incident in any way. Still - this was 100% on me and quite honestly, I got lucky. It was close - I felt the wind change on my right arm. Had my saddle bags been installed, I think I would have bought it.

After a long layoff from the bike, and after spooning on some new tires, I went for a pleasant 60 mile ride to check the recent maintenance and scrub the tires a little bit in anticipation of tomorrow's ride in NGA. Lazy rural riding in the curves they intentionally put in the roads around here on new rubber is bliss. I got some of my muscle memory back. Looking forward to furthering that thought tomorrow.

Noticed yesterday on my ride to work that my aux lights weren't acting right. Flickering, not going to full power with the high beams right away. Spent part of this afternoon going over the wiring for them and as soon as I pulled on one section, one of the 3 wires in the bundle broke. Found my problem. Spent the past hour or so fixing it. Gathering up what I need to bring to FYB tech day next weekend.

Washed off all the filth FJRPittsburgh got on my FJR when he was down here, along with three inches of pine pollen.

Met up with Lumberg in the usual place, ran the usual NGA roads before a dessert of Warwoman and 28NB to Highlands before going our separate ways. Traffic was very light, roads were clean, and temperatures were perfect.

Lumberg gets the boat anchor award today for dragging my slow ass around. I think he about fell asleep. Well, hopefully he will tolerate it another time.

Score was perfect today. No errors or field romping.

Had a nice 340 mile ride up through south central Virginnie and back down the Blue Ridge Parkway. For those fairly local, the section around Roanoke that's been closed for so long is now open again.

Picked up a set of RS IVs on Friday. With the positive reports they're receiving and a screaming deal from a local dealer (w/rebate), I figured it was too good to pass up. Saved $150 verses on-line pricing. Now to figure out how to use the RS IIIs I have in standby...first world problems!

Rode to work this morning. Managed to get out Sunday for about 240-250 miles working on collecting points for the Team Strange GT event visiting race tracks. Added 5 more to my score, up to 11 so far. Need 25 for finisher status. PA has a lot of small dirt tracks that I'd never heard of.

After riding yesterday in Georgia with the man with no name, I realized that I really do need a new dark shield. The etches are near the periphery of my vision, but bothersome. I believe they happened on the way back from Colorado from a dump truck with loose gravel falling off the gate and bouncing up and hitting me. Shields are expensive and I try to make do with imperfect situations, but in this case enough was enough. Visited New Enough website, got the dark shield... and a clear Pinlock insert while I was at it.

I also realized how griffed up my jacket is getting, whereas Lumberg's 2 year old Minnesota suit looked like he just picked it up...so I visited the Nikwax website and got some wash and weather protectant. Either before or after the Ramble I will get it clean and water repellant.

With a set of RS III's in first position, it might be a few months Jim. However, C14 needs a new front tire so the front III might go on it. Then I'd be left with an orphan III rear. I'll come up with some plan to get the RS IV's on the FJR sooner rather than later... ;)
